The cult depicted in "Save Me" seems loosely based on JMS from the first two episodes of "In the Name of God: A Holy Betrayal". It shows a probable inside story of a family sucked into a cult with a charismatic leader who claims himself to be the Messiah.

Both stories involve a female lead who is closed off from her true emotions and a bright, creative, people-loving male lead who helps her understand herself and become a better person.
