😢 Feel sorry for both of them

I'm fascinated that Bright comes in for the hate but not Win. But then Bright was the bigger star coming out of 2gether so I guess that means more attention of all kinds. But yeah Bright is a super polarizing celeb. It reminds me a lot of Lee Min Ho, ironically.

You know what? I decided to look up ratings for other dramas I've seen (mostly Korean) and they are hovering about the same as this except for the really exceptional dramas like My Mister. So you're right, it's not that low. My perception was it was lower than it should be because there were so many negative comments here when the first two episodes aired.

Tu and Bright are so young and have to deal with a jaw dropping amount of online negativity. Tbh I'm in awe of their poise. Neither of them is publicly bothered about it which is impressive.

Unfortunately there's a significant number of people who dislike Bright because of 2gether and that seems to be driving down the rating which is really too bad because as you said I think the quality of this production is very high. Online fan communities are weird y'all.

Love all of this and specific to this: "And of course, as she was stripping off his clothes, she was stripping off his layers of deflection and arrogance as well. " His leopard skin jacket came off and he was wearing a floral shirt, love the metaphor there (aside from the sexiness of the scene 😆)

Another funny moment: when Glakao shouts YES SIR at his mother when she tells him to get the tea

The only part that didn't land for me was saying Ren is a good person. He's only nice to certain people but when he's angry he's capable of doing things like shoving Gorya. Plus he's going to kiss the girl his best friend is in love with and I already preemptively hate him for that

Tu is STUNNING in that ad! They all look amazing but she's next level.

There hasn't been enough hyperventilating here over how gorgeous this cast is, both men and women. All of the F4 are matched in A+++ visuals (and how Thyme manages to be hot wearing head to toe animal prints and with that hair is a wonder) but then you have Gorya being real-girl stunning + Mira, Tia and Mama Paramaanantra all supermodel beautiful. Even Kaning, when my husband saw her on screen he commented on how pretty she is.

My guess is that Gorya will refuse to be shamed for what she did which would be in line with her refusal to be slut shamed by the rumors that she slept with 10 guys and had an abortion.

But him being a dumbass is a very important plot point in the other versions because at first he doesn't believe her and then she gets attacked by the students and then he realizes he does trust her and he rushes to defend her. It's a turning point in how he views her and moves their relationship to the next level. What I hope happens in this version is Thyme is going to be very angry and unfair to Gorya only she's going to stand up and say I'm not ashamed of what I did to support my family and I'm not going to apologize to you for it. Then MJ & Kavin will uncover who leaked the photos and Thyme will defend Gorya when the students attack her.

Ding ding ding this is the correct interpretation.

It's the same number of episodes as 2005 Hana Yori Dango with nearly identical plot points so far.

I think you're right about it being Hana's plan but that doesn't take away from the fact that Gorya made a decision to do work in the bar to help her family. It's nothing like being drugged and stripped, that's practically a sexual assault

I saw this comment on YouTube and it's such a great observation:

I watched Hana Yori Dango, Boys Over Flowers and Meteor Garden (2019).
And this is the BEST execute of the, how to say it politely, ah, "being a hoe" act.

In HYD and BOF, the FL aka Gorya in this ver, literally got drugged and stripped off (before that, drinking and hallucinating about the 2nd ML, aka Ren), and other people take pictures of her when she was unconscious and in underwear. AND she was underaged (16-17 yo).

In Meteor Garden (2019), they toned it down a bit, although, she was still drunk and hallucinated about the piano player was Lei (aka Ren). Then her friend asked a stranger to take her to the hotel and also take a picture to prove her friend (FL) is safe.

But this, the female is in control, she did it for her family and quit with dignity. Of course she is shocked that the pictures were being taken, but at least she knows what happen there, she knows her justice. Not just like other FL, woke up in a strange bed in a hotel, got stripped off.

SO yes, this is a much smarter way to put it in.

She's in a club scene in Hana Yori Dango so she's probably at the hostess club in this version
