Questions that I was hoping the drama would answer but didnβt:β Who actually started the fire when Yi Anβs…
During the scene where the Queen Mother finds out her father was scheming to kill I-An, it's implied that she accidentally set the fire that killed her husband when she burned the edict.
Final episode: Byeon Woo Seok is giving such a better performance as a jobless loser than he did as the prince. He needs to stick to funny lewser in love roles that play to his strengths and not let himself be miscast because of his looks.
Meanwhile I can't understand why they put the Queen Mother in Dior and Hui Ju in something Queen Elizabeth would've worn. π
Gong Seung Yeon was amazing all the way up to the end and I hope she gets better lead roles in the future.
This drama was a total waste of Steve Noh's fine ass.
This drama felt like a gourmet recipe made at a Micheline Star restaurant where the chef somehow forgot the salt. Expensive but the terrible script and sloppy execution ruined it.
ETA: the kiss between the assistants made me cringe. So unbelievably awkward and they had negative chemistry
Oh this is such an unpopular opinion, but I agree completely. I mean they wanted us to believe that she has a…
As you get further into the drama you'll also see that the fit on a lot of her clothes is atrocious. There's one white suit in particular that is way too tight across the bust which is unforgivable especially since IU is tiny. The styling is also, how should I put it, unsophisticated. Bad color combinations, poor accessory choices.
and just to add a little more context to this, Gojong was the last ruler of Joseon before Japan overthrew the government and ruled until the end of WWII, inflicting a huge amount of suffering on the Korean people. So the Perfect Crown production being so sloppy with the history is seriously disrespectful. I really don't understand how this production can be so expensive and yet so sloppy with all of these details.
really makes you wonder though, why does the palace have such bad fire security lmao? not a single sprinkler going…
No smoke alarms, no security cameras, no fire extinguishers, no fire truck parked on the palace grounds after the first fire. Plus are the buildings made of Duralogs because why do they go up in flames so fast?
After ep 10, I kinda got the kidβs whining, but ML using him like a puppet after hearing his fatherβs wish…
I agree with everything you're saying. It also bothered me when he had the little King publicly approve his marriage to Hui Ju knowing his mother would be enraged and that the child would have to bear the brunt of the fallout. But then I remind myself this is a fluffy Disney love story and nothing should be taken that seriously π
Unpopular opinion: the Queen Mother actress is genuinely phenomenal πβ¨ her screen presence is absolutely…
I feel the same way and also add Steve Noh who plays the prime minister. Even though I don't like the writing for his character I think he's a phenomenal actor. His micro expressions are incredible.
For real! Are the police incompetent? This is the third fire. Did no one retrofit sprinklers in the palace? No…
I'm obviously joking about it being Ring cameras but they could have cameras that aren't connected to the internet but are monitored by security. Plus everyone who enters and leaves the palace is recorded at the gate so they would know exactly who was on the premises at the time of the fires. There's staff crawling over the grounds, they didn't see who entered the building? But like I said, this is way too much thought for a romantic fantasy drama (as in feeding fantasies, not magic obv).
For real! Are the police incompetent? This is the third fire. Did no one retrofit sprinklers in the palace? No Ring cameras? And why are these buildings instantly engulfed in fire? People are pissed than I-An married a commoner but no outcry over his failure as regent to investigate these fires? I'm clearly thinking too hard about this tho, it's not that kind of drama π
No wonder you found the romance meh if you did not notice IU and Byeon Wooseok, which romance actually has kept…
I've loved both leads in other dramas, but they're not doing it for me in this one. I don't know if it's a writing or a directing issue but I don't think it's giving.
And it's solely because of Gong Seong Yeon and Steven Noh. They are playing 3D chess with their acting while everyone else is playing checkers with a cardboard set. I really hope that the success of this drama gets them cast in lead roles because they deserve it. Looks and talent, they're both the whole package.
Everything else is giant plot holes.
