|I think the "owner" who got possession of doggo is the psycho 2ML and he's going to use it to try and blackmail Seo-ri but in this life Se-gye will rescue it and they will have the dog as their pet in the end. But before we get there the drama will scare the shit out of us putting the dog in peril. Let's see if I'm right.
Just finished watching ep 5. I'm glad you guys are enjoying the airplane scene but I just couldn't find it funny…
Yah I personally had trouble finding that scene funny (even though I've laughed out loud multiple times in each episode) because Se Gye was actually poisoned almost to death! His cousin tried to murder him in episode 5 wtf
Right wingers and ultra nationalists are flooding Twitter, Reddit and other social media claiming that Perfect Crown was financed with Chinese money and that's why they deliberately disrespected Korean history. There is NO evidence that it's true. The right is taking advantage of this situation to push their political agenda.
Just be really careful about everything you read, especially if it says all Koreans have the same opinions about this issue. The political situation is tense and people are just as polarized as they are in the US.
can someone explain y iu is getting cancelled i have not watched the drama yet but I canât find an explanation
Copying over a thread I made on this:
To give a little context to the controversy around Perfect Crown, the show used a crown and chant that were used when Joseon was a vassal state of China. The crown and chant were changed by King Gojong when he declared himself emperor of Joseon. This sounds like self aggrandizement but it was actually a move to strengthen Joseon's sovereignty when it was being encroached on by Japan, China, and Russia. A few years after Gojong declared himself emperor, Japan overthrew the government and put an end to Joseon.
This history is a very touchy area for Koreans and the producers should have known better. It speaks to how sloppy the production was. Nobody put in the work to research it properly.
Having said that, IU in particular has been a target for the right wing ever since she fed protestors calling for the impeachment of the Korean president who tried to launch a coup in December 2024. He's now serving a life sentence in prison.
Even though huge crowds turned out to demand Yoon's removal from office, he still has a lot of supporters who are angry about his removal. Today the country remains incredibly polarized and the political situation is very fraught. And the people who make the biggest stink about historical inaccuracies tend to be nationalistic right-wingers.
PS: When Yoon's supporters were protesting, some wore M@GA hats and carried pictures of Tr*mp sooooo make of that what you will.
saw a video of IU apologizing at her fan meet.. didn't watch this yet can anyone tell what the controversy is…
Someone on Reddit mentioned that IU in particular has been a target for the right wing ever since she fed protestors calling for the impeachment of the Korean president who tried to launch a coup. That's probably fueling a lot of the controversy against the drama https://www.koreaherald.com/article/10017103

Are critics being too sensitive over a light romance? Probably but this is a very touchy area for Koreans and the producers should have known better. It speaks to how sloppy the production was. Nobody put in the work to research it properly.
Having said all that I want to make it clear this is not the fault of the actors and it's ridiculous that they're getting blamed for any of it.
So let me get this straight. Before the director yells action, IUâwho is famously and humbly still rocking a…
I don't agree they gave legendary performances but I do agree with everything else you said. It is absolutely not the fault of the actors and very much the fault of wardrobe and whoever was in charge of research for the production.
I also think, FL's secretary was somehow hinted to be a GAY person but later she magically fell in love with the…
Lee Yeon gave an interview where she said she was pressured to grow her hair and wear skirts but then she found and agency willing to work with her as is. So the styling for the character may be just be reflecting her personal style. A quote from the interview:
Later, the CEO and manager visited Lee Yeonâs cafe. Lee Yeon confessed that during a past meeting with another agency, she was only asked about her appearance. They questioned if she had considered growing her hair longer or wearing skirts, citing her intimidating gaze.
Lee Yeon said, âI thought I might not be able to join an agency. It was a critical moment. If I hadnât met the CEO and signed the contract back then...â and shed tears of gratitude toward the CEO.
Lee Yeon added, âThe CEO was the first to talk about my abilities, not my appearance. I had almost given up when I met him.â
Just one thing I complain about is those cheap press on nails on the women of this show , I could even see the…
Everything about this drama was so goddamn sloppy. IU's clothes looked cheap and they didn't fit her properly. The editing was bizarre sometimes, like they'd cut off a scene in the middle of a song with no smooth transition. And of course you have the horrible writing. It's like the whole thing was a cash grab and nobody gave a shit except for the actors.
PerfectCrown being such a monster hit means that no one will gaf about good writing in future dramas because they know it doesn't matter when it comes to making money. Depressing as hell.
