This has been making me a little mental: MDL has the wrong name for the daughter. They spell it Yi Na but it should be spelled I-na the way it is in the Netflix subtitles. In Korean it's spelled 이나, 이 sounds like ee not yee. I hope people start spelling it correctly, my eye is starting to twitch every time I see it wrong.

I hate MDL ratings so I won't say what it's worth but for me it's on track to be the best drama of the year (won't know for sure until it finishes and we find out if it sticks the landing). It has complex & interesting characters, a tight plot that makes sense with no filler or dead spots, creative cinematography and one of the best OSTs I've ever heard.

If you're open to Thai BLs, Be My Favorite is fantastic. They kept the time slips very simple and the story is about the ML lead maturing and taking responsibility for his life. The romance is swoony. I absolutely loved it.

I don't think the show was villainizing him for turning down Wandee, it was because he asked him to give up the scholarship by playing on his feelings for him.

It's very purposeful, the drama is saying that superpowers are meaningless without care and love and empathy. The most touching moments Gwiju has had with the female lead are his small acts of kindness like tying her shoelace and bringing back the shaved ice. It's not about big showy moments or rescuing people, that's a trap he's put himself into. You see that with Bok Eomma as well, she's been so fixated on power that she's lost her humanity and her ability to see her children for who they really are. Human beings don't necessarily have a lot of control over their lives but they can always choose to be kind.

She doesn't do vulnerability the way other actresses do. I had trouble with it too at first but now I kind of appreciate it because we're at a very emotional part of the story and when she does let her guard down it lands hard.
