Why do people have two names? Xie Zhang, Jiuheng?
Jiuheng is his courtesy name whereas Xie Zheng is his given name~

I didn’t get the joke when Changyu was talking about the princess’s name
'Ben Gong' (本宫) direct translation is 'This Palace' - is the term that female royal family members (Empresses, consorts, concubines, and princesses) refer to themselves in place of '我' - 'I'.

Similar to how emperors refer to themselves as 'Zhen' (朕), emperor's brothers 'Ben Wang' (本王), sons of the emperor/ emperor's brothers and kings 'Gu' (孤).

At 39:40, Gongsun Yin calls 'Yan Zheng' by his courtesy name 'Jiuheng' - but then corrects himself, 'haven't seen you in a long time' ('久 / Jiu' means long time) - hahahaha. Our poor Changyu didn't catch that, otherwise she would have know that her master's other disciple he wanted to matchmake her with is his 'Jiuheng'.

My only extremely minor gripe about it is like dude. stop trying to sell me on pork intestines. it's a revolting…
Thanks for this. :)

It just didn't sit right with me that the person lumped their thoughts with 'most people'. Who are they to speak for others?

'with people so proud they take offense over minor perceived slights and invent the intentions of people they don't know to strawman them'

You have got to be kidding me....

ML doesn't like them because he is a noble. Offals were consumed by the commoners. Those scenes were intentionally added to show the differences in their upbringings.

It's a Chinese drama first and foremost filmed for the Chinese public, regardless of the fact that it's aired internationally (but kudos that international viewers are able to enjoy these dramas). Offals are part of our culture. So that one-in-four or one-in-five comment you've made is more like three-in-four.

'It's a revolting food to most people'....slightly offended at this.

Offals are a big part of many cuisines and play a deep role in history especially during times of famines and food shortages.

I, personally, love braised or deep fried pig intestines with pickled mustard greens. Same with pork liver - cooked with congee. Or Korean bbqed beef intestines (gopchang).

I would like to add, this is a Chinese drama filmed filmed for a Chinese audience so the director wouldn't film this in mind that these close-ups would disgust international viewers.

Ouch, I can't help but cry-laugh each time ChangYu butchers Cao Zhi's famous 'The Poem of Seven Steps'. Fans of Romance of the Three Kingdoms would understand.

Person Xie Bin Bin
It's hilarious how many different celebrities he is said to look like here in the comment section. I would like to interject and say he also kind of look like Allen Ren? With a dash of Xiao Zhan and Cheng Lei mixed in. And strangely enough, even at 30, he totally pulled off playing a high schooler in 'Twirl of the Uniform Skirt' (Too Young to Love).

What a way to end the trailer: 魔教教主...慕清晏

*shivers in anticipation* When it comes to wuxia dramas, I have a soft spot for the 'demonic cult' thanks to Jin Yong's 'The Heaven Sword and Dragon Saber'.

Why are they so natural and so cute together? I can't get enough of their scenes together in the latest episodes. Nothing about their chemistry feels forced or acted out.
