Hmm no… i think they only film 1 season. For a drama that has 40 episodes they need about 4-5 months to film…
Without spoiling anything, JOL is an absolute masterpiece! Guardians of the Dafeng is fun but JOL is something else. Though to me season 1 > season 2 hands down. Absolutely give it a try after GoTD.
Just saw the cast list has been updated! Has it been confirmed that our Hi 6 family have renewed their contracts for 2025? It's sad and unfortunate about Lao Qin, but not very shocking considering the allegations made. China is huge on celebrity cancel culture each time a controversy or scandal comes out.
Is there any possibility of xu xin nian being the No 1 guy, idk but there is a poster him holding that mirror…
I have a strong suspicion that No 1 may be Eldest Princes Huai Qing (长公主), the look she had when she accidentally saw Xu Qi An's mirror during Xin Nian's visit to the palace.
Also, we know from the Realm Sect's meeting in episode 14 that No.1 was the one who mentioned the sword in the Ancestral Temple awakening and knew about the happenings in the palace during the ceremony....which meant No. 1 would have been present there.
I need Cdrama writers to be more creative with their english title 😅
LOL, yes! I'll be happy to see them stop the '.... Blossom ...' trend for every other drama (in saying that, I really did enjoy the dark horse of this year The Blossom)
I just realized how versatile an actor Li Xin Ze is. He played hateful characters in this year's The Double and now as WTY in Blossom, but how could I have forgotten that he was our favourite, beloved, loyal and righteous 大师兄 Tang Lian in The Blood of Youth!
One of the rare dramas that wrapped things up very nicely and ended on a good note without any open-ended ending. Though I would have loved to see more of Duke Ding's name and the Jiang's clan being cleared.
Also less of Song Han and Ansu and more of Chen Jia and Zhao Zhang Ru would have been great.
I had faith in Yuan Tong (Ji Yong), no way he would have sacrificed himself to save others in their previous lives only to be relegated as a stereotypical SML.
Now I shall watch edits of the first episode to see our SM with his glorious grey hair and armour.
When does she pop up? I was thinking of putting this on hold or dropping but I will keep going to watch her.
Hold on just a little longer. I was thinking to drop this as well, what with all the obvious product placements and how much the writers dialed up Shen Yi's drawing skills into some sort of godly psychological superpower this season, but TJC and Chloe Xie's appearance sucked me back in.
This is my second time seeing Chloe Xie in a role, I must say she can act and she really dominates with screen…
Agree!
I cried my first tears of this drama season while watching episode 15. Her performance as Ao Li was phenomenal, saw so many facets of one character in just 2.5 episodes. She slayed in all the outfits she wore, too.
I'n definitely keeping an eye out for Chloe Xie's future works.
I thought it was them, and it is! ❤️❤️ https://youtu.be/XSVbWU1ZQeo?si=CcSK8vNO9YqJ4GN9
Wow, thanks for sharing. It's a running gag that MZY is tone-deaf and sings very off-key (from her appearances on Wonderland, Hello Saturday and other variety shows).
Could someone please add the actor who played Lu Zheng and Lu Ming to the cast, thanks. I cried buckets after watching episode 13.
Also, while both Ji Yong and Wu Shan are perfectly great guys (definitely ML material in some other drama especially Xia Zhi Guang in The Spirealm - if you know, you know), but Song Mo is more than just the icing on the cake, he's the entire cake.
I put off watching this because of the title (like how many cdramas are we going to have the word 'Blossom' in the last year). But so glad I decided to give this a try, just started and I'm already on episode 4. Can't wait to catch up on all episodes this weekend, going to binge what I can then.
What a break-out role for Li Yun Rui who was always relegated as SML but doing such a superb job as ML here.
As for Meng Ziyi, I never really thought too much of her acting as a lot of her previous roles (except for her Wen Qing in 'The Untamed') were quite forgettable to me. But I've enjoyed watching her in variety shows the last couple of years - Hello Saturday, Keep Running, and Wonderland and I admire that she acknowledges she is beautiful without coming off as shallow. XD
I'm pleasantly surprised by how much I'm enjoyin her role as Shou Gu here and the pacing of the show is going well. Fingers crossed we won't get the dreaded BE and that the storyline, directing and acting stay consistent.
It's been awhile since the last kdrama kept me as riveted (the last one was Lovely Runner - the earlier episodes before it went downhill mid-way through).
Just saw your guest appearance in Love Game in Eastern Fantasy and again came on to say how underrated you are. After 4 years, I still wish we could see you in a second season of Ancient Detective.
i really hope, avenueX isnt going to look into this one. usually its funny to see her critiques the last two years,…
I tend to skip her reviews these days (especially if it were dramas I was enjoying at the time of the review) and just watch her update videos on what's upcoming, shooting, airing etc.
Also, we know from the Realm Sect's meeting in episode 14 that No.1 was the one who mentioned the sword in the Ancestral Temple awakening and knew about the happenings in the palace during the ceremony....which meant No. 1 would have been present there.
The aesthetic views of the riverside during the Qing Ming Festival drew me in. Here's to slowly enjoying this drama for the holidays.

So this shows how much she practiced before recording. Haha, maybe Silence Wang hand a hand in vocal training.
