I'm watching Rise of Ning to pass the time, it's an easy watch but have to put it on-hold or supplement 'Kill Me Love Me' depending on the airing schedule.

I had to put Snowy Night on-hold due to the 'BE' tag. I'll wait it out before I pick it up again.

I'm going to agree with all the comments about 40 episodes being 10 episodes too long for a modern drama. I hope they won't put in unnecessary angst and fillers. In any case, I'm always down for anything starring our 大哥 and I've finally become a fan of Wang Churan after 'Are You the One'.

Anyone has any news on Zhang Hao Wei's scenes (whether he'll be edited out, replaced or his scenes kept in), especially since he's SML here.

I haven't caught the latest Hello Saturday episode, but it was mentioned that admidst Qin Xiaoxian's recent controversy/cheating allegations, the opening song has changed to a fully animated one and Lao Qin was edited out of the episode.

I'm so excited to see their pairing again, they were the highlight of 'The Long Ballad' for me. Fingers crossed that the airing schedule doesn't get changed and we will be seeing the release this month.

Sand Sea, the book which Tomb of the Sea is adapted from, is mostly about Li Cu.

The Iron Triangle's reunion (Xiao Ge, Wu) takes place in the short story 'Ten Years Later' which takes place after Sand Sea.

There's a second story that follows the main series 'Restart' which has been adapted into a two seasons drama 'Reunion: The Sound of the Providence' starring Zhu Yi Long (Wu Xie), Huang Jun Jie (Zhang Qiling), Chen Ming Hao (you'll be familiar with him as Wang Pang Zi already after TotS and ABtBD). If you haven't already watched Reunion yet, do give it a try 😊

The novel is to destroy what's behind the Bronze Door as it's supposed to be an ominous horror - the changing of emperors apparently takes place behind the door and what comes up is supposedly a monster per what Wang Zanghai witnessed.

In the novel, the Wang Clan seek to obtain immortality.

The Wang Family (or Wang Clan as they're not blood related) are a group of people whose goal is to destroy the Zhang Family so that they can reveal the Ultimate (essentially the secret behind the Bronze Door) to the entire world.

The first ancestor to the Wang Family / Wang Clan was Wang Zanghai who on his quest to pursue immortality, who went behind the Bronze Door during the early Ming Dynasty, found out about the Ultimate and was scared by it.

So basically the Zhang Family's mission is to safeguard and keep the secret hidden to protect the world whereas the Wang Clan's is to expose the truth to the world so that they can create a plan to destroy the horror behind the Bronze Door.

As of know the Ultimate is unknown except that it may be related to immortality.

The last story of the main novel series is 'Sand Sea' which 'Tomb of the Sea' is adapted from. However, 'Sand Sea' remains unfinished with 4 volumes out -Books 1-2 are published while books 3-4 can be found online.

Then following this, Xu Lei wrote a sequel to the main Daomu Biji novel series 'Restart' which was adapted into a two-season drama Reunion: Sound of the Providence released in 2020 which takes place 10 years after the main series when Xiao Ge comes out from the Bronze Door.

is that the mystery contact that Zhang Haike was on the phone with is someone from the Wang Family. I think it was the Wang Family who Zhang Nian was referring to when he mentioned in an earlier episode that 'they' reached out to him.

The mysterious 'They' more often than not = Wang Family.
