Coming off strong straight from watching Put Your Head on My Shoulder (would give a 10/10), I was excited to watch another drama with the same lead actress (Xing Fei). The first few episodes were alright but I could barely get myself through the last two episodes. A breakdown of the ratings for this drama:

[SOME SPOILERS] Story: Filled with cliques that take us round and round in a plot that is meaningless. The last two episodes were utterly ridiculous. Kidnapping?? Ransom?? Sudden acceptance?? But oh snap amnesia?? Jump into a freaking lake to trigger the memories?? and FINALLY everyone is going to live happily ever?? (I'm sorry, but so many parts of these last episodes were overly dramatic, rushed, and terribly edited together).

Acting/cast: I can't say the acting was bad, but I do think the actors/actresses were dealt with a pretty bad deck of cards to work with. The character development is all over the place and I can't say I'm feeling the chemistry between ANY of the couples. PYHMS definitely raised the bar with Si tu mo and Gu wei yi's adorable relationship which I unfortunately could not even find an ounce of in this drama. I was skeptical in seeing the actress in another college drama and afraid that she would be too similar to her old character and that I would only see her as Si tu mo, but props to her for pulling off a completely different character (though less likeable, I'm sorry).

Music: Great! I can't deny that the opening OST definitely got me hooked.

Rewatch value: No. Just no. No good plot, bad editing, no strong relationships. No. Like for example in PYHMS the plot also isn't extremely climactic and exciting, but viewers could really get invested int he relationships and each individual scene. I can rewatch any clip any day and enjoy it.

Overall: Yike. Sorry for being perhaps too cynical in this review but after finishing the drama I felt frustrated over how bad it was. I've watched way too many dramas by now (possibly well over 400) and maybe that it way I am so annoyed with over used tropes and cliques. Now don't get me wrong, I do like the occasional clique, but only when they are well executed. Maybe I'm too jaded to enjoy this drama. The storyline is all over the place much like this review right now. I don't know, your call if you want to watch it, but it's definitely one of the more ridiculous dramas I've seen in a while.
