Person Oh Yeon Seo
I've started watching Korean Odyssey and she hasn't made an impression on me yet. Her face does remind me a little…
in my very subjective opinion I think she's the most beautiful Korean actress. Her face everything it's onscreen is WOW, I could just have a drama of just herself and wouldn't mind. Encounter will probably be the 5th drama of hers I watch, so thabks for letting me know what to expect πŸ˜„. I recently watched Full House and really loved her character even if the drama was a bit lame. And yes she looked so beuatiful all the way throughout.

Han Hyo-Joo is gorgeous 😍 and I also simp for Song Hye Kyo ever since watching Descendents (didn't love the drama but loved her so much). Hye Kyo is also one of the few others who kept a vlog

My Sassy Girl is on my list, and I might like her character more there. Thanks for the other suggestions too 😊
I also heard about her vlog on her MDL page, maybe I'll check that out? lol it's not usual that actors do that so it's interesting to see who they are outside of the dramas.

"She graces my view, occupies my mind, claims my heart." That's an unforgettable confession. The audacity…
AGREED 😫 I think they just wanted to stretch it out more for the last 2-3 episodes so brought in the highly overdone 2nd lead goes evil cliché. I so wanted him to remain a good character. But they focused on him unnecessarily instead of giving us more time with the leads. For example giving us their long awaited wedding night...that would have been steamy. I also heard rumours that in the novel they have a daughter at the end - would have loved to see that!
I didn't hate the show ending, just think it could have been better.

yeah it sucked that very soon after the Emperor was like nah forget that, let's fall for 2ML's ridiculous idea instead 🀣

Did we watch the same drama? because that wasn't a trope at all.
I didn't see it like he always had to save her. she was very independent and he only came in because the story required him to be involved with her every step of the way. He also had to be involved in the wars, etc.

I agree, normally a character like him would have had a dozen accomplices. I think the thing with this being 36 episodes though is that they couldn't introduce so many characters. other dramas like The Untamed have 50 episodes and a Heck of a lot more characters (so many that I struggled to keep them straight lol). This drama is relatively simple in comparison

which makes sense because he has the bigger army for most the series. However she plots and makes her own moves independently from him. She went to Rundu and saved the city and he only came in near the end of the battle with more men and extra supplies. Don't worry though, she does get chances to save him too.

I think she's a very good actor. Surprising she hasn't done better. In Korea the reason could be totally superficial,…
I've started watching Korean Odyssey and she hasn't made an impression on me yet. Her face does remind me a little of Shin Min-A, but that's where any similarities stop.

Everyone is in love so easy in this drama, I know it's in the title but seriously it's a bit too much!
haha first I thought there would be a love triangle but it turned into more of a love hexagon. Everyone being in love with a co-worker has to be one the slightly overdone tropes in the drama

It may be cringe, but to be cringe is to be free. I watched this a couple months ago, and I'm coming back to maybe…
exactly this! the first episode is cringe but I urge viewers not to stop. If you get through it you won't regret it, it's so overly sweet and heart melting 😭

My first Jdrama and I don't regret it! it did start a bit cringey and the FL is naive and a bit clueless, but overall it's really really sweet and leaves you feeling single ❀️

you lasted longer than me lol. I dropped it in Episode 6. I know the FL is meant to be you V, but I also wished…
getting back to this a few months later but yes, I still remember not really liking the FL. even when I stopped at Ep 6 I just didn't see her getting better. plus other negative tropes I didn't really like such as the scheming 2FL villain, not my cup of tea either

did you watch it since then? I've not watched any of his dramas since and may dive into some like Legend of Zhang Hai, but I'm not eager to start this one again lol

Loved so many things to do with this drama - obviously I didn't believe the FL could really be a man but I'll look past that as part of the fantasy. She still kicked ass and overall it was a feminist drama πŸ™Œ.
The amazing quotes will stay with me too

"I love the moon, but the moon doesn't know" and in reply "Now the moon is yours" ❀️❀️❀️

and not to forget "SHE GRACES MY VIEW, OCUPIES MY MIND, CLAIMS MY HEART" 😍

Why keep forcing the ML to save the FL troop? She does extremely well in battle, killing or harming the enemy…

They tackle how women should be treated equal to men but the FL pretended to be a man to get recognize or achieve…
That's the entire point. Historical China did not allow women to enlist in the army so the only way she could was to disguise as a man. Same thing as Mulan. They could only reveal themselves to be women and fight for women's rights when they won. Later FL in this drama also fights in her own female identity.

I've wondered that, too! In this and Guardians of the Dafeng.
in the First Frost it was a lovely connection to have her play the supporting role because Zhou Ye wrote both novels When I Fly Towards You and The First Frost (and Hidden Love). but yeah I agree it was surprising to see her in this drama in yet another supporting role. When she is a very 'main character' type of actress

I am on Episode 32 after getting back into this after a break. But I feel like Xu Xing Fu using ACTUAL Hei Ru Fei…
I had the impression XXF was just using He Rui Fei as a puppet figure, easy to control and nothing more. He just didn't anticipate HRF to go wild and do big mistakes on his own (like killing all the General's, which XXF did not see coming at all). it's fitting XXF didn't see the problem in playing the long game with real He Rui Fei
