I prefer Cheng Lei though, as you said no one ever calls him Ryan and he's always known as Cheng Lei. Some actors are commonly known by their English name, but never seen it much for Cheng Lei.

Plenty of pairings who were together in a previous drama have been recasted. So why not? They make a fab pairing as we have already seen.
Neither Cheng Lei or Lu Yuxiao are listed for any new dramas either. So who knows maybe they can be paired together for a script that works for both of them. They would be great in another costume drama together!

They are careful to not make it exactly a reincarnation or rebirth though. In Blossom, she went back in time to her childhood whilst still keeping her adult memories and intellect. She didn't die in the sense that she was born as a brand new person.

Disappointed when a drama can only be streamed from 1 or 2 sites with VIP subscription. I already have Netflix, Viki, IQIYI and it's still not enough. Going to wait until all episodes for this hopefully drops for free on YouTube 😕

Watching this currently and I agree with you about the romance - this is not a romance genre. They don't even have the leads converse 1-1 until Ep 10. It might be a little side plotline just for the need to have an ML, but as you say his character is not that pravelent. For the first few episodes I was wondering if he would even make an appearance, because he doesn't show up until Ep 6 onwards 😂.

What this really is gonna be is nearly 42 hours about ink and business. I don't have any problem with that though as long as it's good and keeps me invested. I do like it so far (nearly at Ep 12)

The FL was definitely better acted in the movie. She came across so breathy and stiff in this one. That saying I came here because there is supposedly no MDL page for Love O2O the movie.

Has anyone else watched the movie? With Angelababy and Jin Boran. It doesn't even have a page on MDL 😔

I tried to watch this but dropped before Ep 5. Just couldn't get into it. Some of it also really reminded me of Love Between Fairy and Devil which I adored.

Although from what everyone else is saying, the ML needs to be visibly older than her. Wang Xingyue is a young actor who does look a little more mature. But realistically I think someone more older would do. Cheng Lei would probably be best from the list above. He also doesn't mind doing female centric roles (Legend of Female General, Shadow Love) and I think he would suit being paired with MZY

Also Cheng Lei, and Ci Sha (recently came in A Splendid Match). There can also be newly become ML actors, I really want to see Deng Kai as an ML. He's mature in his looks and acting too.

I agree loved the beginning. The whole part where he lives with her as Yan Zheng was really well done.

Yes some of the middle really drags, especially the part where they are seperated and she goes on her own journey. When she's stuck in the village and goes on a mission to save everyone, etc. Personally found that the least interesting bit of the drama and wouldn't rewatch it

Now watching The Heir and I really like this theme of making a drama about one prominent thing/industry which has an important role going back in Chinese history. As you said, tea, now ink.

They should carry on making historicals with this theme. Paper, and gunpowder/fireworks trace their origins back to China too.

I need to rewatch this some time. I remember loving this so much at the time. Xu Kai was just so damn fiiinne in this role, their romance and chemistry also was 🔥

Considering it's only been rated by 4.4k or something users I think that's a reasonable rating.

Just to be clear I meant romantic vibes as in things they can do for each other and things they said. The script for a lot of their quotes were excellent in TFF. Also anything he would do for her when they lived together 👌. Benefits of such a great novel writer. Makes you even believe the drama to be better than it was, or to overlook that FL seemed more timid/non expressive a lot of the time.

Idk I thought Zhou Wan should have had a little character devopment in that time. She breaks off friendship with ML many times previously, so the final REAL break up seemed less realistic to me. She made development in breaking away from listening to her mother, but still listened to his grandfather. I guess so it depends on perspective! Some might have taken this as reasonable, but I thought it was weak for a 10 year break up (not even 1 year, or 5 years)

You clearly do because from your very first reply you called me a TFF fan when I even said I wasn't. You just straight up assumed as such, now want to deny and falsely push it back on me to make yourself more credible.

I also *wasn't* comparing her to ZW. You repeatedly miss the point I was making to point out that Yifan had been sexually abused and harassed. Which directly affected her wanting to stay in the same city and therefore why she left Sang Yan. And if you want to technically 'make this a competition,' then YES Yifan did suffer more. Calling out the FACTS is not giving anyone a pass or "coddling." This is why I said your understanding of this subject seems very low and you directly overlook the gravity of it. You never understood the topic of sexual abuse, and therefore don't understand the character of Yifan.

Both definitely have their pros and cons. The FL is more receptive to the ML in this one, but the romantic vibes was better done in TFF. Depends which way you prefer.

In addition I think the break ups and misery also made much more sense in L&P and TFF. They dealt with heavy topics such as sexual assault, attempted murder, suicide. The relationships broke because of that. Whereas that wasn't the case here even if she did get kidnapped twice.

It's amusing that you think that anyone who disagrees with you is straight away a TFF fan. Can't take any criticism or illogic against your statement as it doesn't suit your narrative.

I also didn't say you don't think Wen Yifan didn't suffer enough. I meant more on the side that your core understanding of how abuse (particularly sexual abuse) works seems really low. Even as someone who's neutral to TFF, people like you who never understand but still come everywhere to talk about TFF are always annoying.

Comparing this to dramas like Lighter & Princess and The First Frost is baseless because L&P and TFF had much stronger plotlines compared to this one. The romance in those dramas was also a lot more butterflies-in-your-stomach kind of feel. This drama is weakly written and beyond a few well done scenes, not impactful as a whole.

I'm not "coddling" FL so I stopped reading there 🙄. It's people like you who can't fathom why an ABUSE victim might have chosen to leave people she loved in order to protect them. She wanted to protect herself and him too by leaving. That's not the same as creating misunderstandings for the money or leaving only because their relative asked you to.
