Especially when his brutal words are more impactful than his actions (which we viewers largely see, not Flora). Also if that's what he says he would do then it's not unreasonable for Flora to believe his words over supposed actions he may/may not do.

You think him being verbally abusive is him being "honest?" LOL no, normally no one would tolerate the shit he has been saying. He has been rude and condensing to her throughout the relationship. He has no filter and just hurts her over and over. She gets upset, potentially wants to break up, he says sorry and she forgives him. Rinse and repeat. An endless cycle of both of them being completely useless in this 'situationship' (calling it this is probably most accurate since even Flora doesn't know what it is really)

No she hasn't done any soul searching, or she would have broken it off years ago, perhaps at the very start. Or atleast left the job when she had gathered enough minimal experience. Her problem largely lies in that she is insecure and unconfident in their relationship to consider him a boyfriend. He holds enormous amounts of power over her, including the fact he could fire her or move her to a different branch. In a way what she said to her colleague was true, she is still unable to differentiate Luke as her boss Vs her boyfriend.

I don't think you understand what ppl are talking about then lol. BOTH of them are red flags, neither of them are blameless. You can still have issue with her having a dating profile and not communicating, whilst also finding him the red flag for being so emotionally and verbally abusive. Comments that always pick on the FL and give him a free pass for being her 'victim' just reek of misogyny, and as if you don't understand the drama 😬🙄

I agree. Maybe she didn't know how to regard him as her boyfriend if she didn't know what he wanted for their relationship in the future? She didn't want to just be a temporary GF - she gave him her vision of being married and having the dog and a baby. Unfortunately this was said at the wrong time after a bunch of miscommunication between them already. He lashes out with cruel words when he is insecure and jealous. The irony is that he was thinking about things like marriage and baby, but never communicated that to her in those 4 years. Soo bad all around.

Re. Li Shan Academy, their downfall had to do with rejecting the Empresses quest for power and their objective of getting ahold of the late Emperor's edict. Remember that Ye Li's mother got the edict? She would have passed it on to her father/Ye Li's grandfather who was in charge of Li Shan Academy. They were on the side of the late Prince Ding who was ML's brother, they could have saved him - but everything went wrong as Ye Li's father's side stole the edict instead which led to the late Prince Ding's execution, and the Emperess getting her son on the throne.

I had the same issue with you, being stuck between 8.5 and 9. But I was less generous than you and went for 8.5. Where it was good it was REALLY good, particularly everything to do with her mental health and depression. But then the plot is weak when it's not centered on the lead's, especially the last few episodes.

I'm on the last episode. I think it's really good for a short Netflix drama. It just gets to the point, and you get exactly what you see here from the poster/synopsis/genres.

I would generally agree - but truth is it doesn't need to be romantic to be part of the romance genre. Wuthering Heights (the classic) is not particularly romantic, but it's still a romance 😬

On Calenders it says they could drop Ep 21-24 at once on Tuesday 9th. But they also said that before about previous episodes, and ended up changing it to 1 Ep per day. So we can't be sure yet

Fr I used to watch them when I was younger (2000's until mid 2010's) but now they are such garbage 🤮. Every ML is a red flag, ever drama carries on for like several years with rubbish storyline. They need to improve their own TV standards first instead of looking to adapt Kdramas 🤣🤣🙄

Thank you! I didn't know they changed the name of the movie. What scandal did Angelababy have? As far as I knew it was the actress from the drama which had scandals.

I preferred the drama more tbh, eventhough their chemistry was lacking, I think they needed that many episodes to tell the story. I also preferred Yang Yang as the ML more.

Also might just be me, but I dislike it whenever their reconciliation/later dating period is so much shorter than the past timeline.

They do fr, they should just stick to their own original stories instead of adapting from other countries.

Honestly the whole relationship, character personalities, dynamics reminds me so much of 50 shades of grey, as someone who read that trash book. Even there the FL was just like this, she was also a graduate who worked for the ML just like here, and had very little independent thought lol

Based on the synopsis there is going to be lots of misunderstandings coming up. It doesn't help that they still have a shaky foundation either (like poor communication)
