They stay in this new timeline and the entire time travel aspect wasn't unexplained. In the novel's ending, they have two children: a girl and a boy. The girl becomes the Crown Princess despite the noble families' protests. Eventually, the boy sees LR writing a divorce letter because PWX did not support her in court. Complaining to his sister about it, she assures him that their parents will never divorce, whether in this life or the next and they are just teasing each other.

That was the issue with everyone in the comments, I think. She could have at least told PWX her plan because he was the only one she can trust and who didn't betray her.

I don't think it would have been appropriate for PWX to tell LR that she is pregnant while she is in so much pain from learning who was involved in her death. She might have taken a wrong step and had a miscarriage because her body has been weak since birth.
