I am an American girl (in my mid 20s), living in Ireland, who has always had an interest in Asian culture. I discovered manga at 14 and instantly fell in love with it. My first two mangas were Fruits Basket (I am not-so-patiently waiting for the day that someone FINALLY makes a Fruits Basket drama) and Itazura na Kiss. After re-watching the Japanese anime for Itazura na Kiss for the third time over Christmas 2011, I desperately started looking for more content, and discovered the Taiwanese version It Started with a Kiss. I have been rather addicted to all kinds of dramas, Taiwanese, Japanese, Korean, ever since. 

I have always found it difficult, however, to finish dramas. Very few of the romcoms from which I cannot stay away tend to hold my attention for the entire 10 weeks or so that they air and it is always disappointing to have to slog through the watching of something I was so looking forward to at the beginning. On a mere whim, and a maddening family Christmas, I decided to watch Liar Game, the Korean Version. Immediately I realized that I had been watching all the wrong kinds of dramas. As much as I enjoy the build-up, the skinship, and the general kookiness that goes along with romcoms, unless there is some serious mystery and ongoing drama, I'm going to have trouble sticking with it to the very end (the drama that comes to mind here is Master's Sun, a romcom but also with some very mysterious characters and plotlines).
