how to appreciate average drama? - what below average dramas... record of youth makes much more sense after watching…
yeah but realistic doesn't have to be boring though, and ROY was really really boring. I don't enjoy Park Bogum's projects in general anyway, they're flat (except of reply 88 of course)
It doesn't take away the fact that the writting is TERRIBLE, but the way you watch a show can impact your opinion on the said show.
The huge problem that not binge watching a show creates is that it gives us time to think about how the writing can be either so good, meh, or even bad. When you binge watch a show you don't have to think about it because you're not taking the time to think about it. Reading other people's point of view on the matter also influences your own opinion because they can notice something you didn't. Also the theories can fuck up your entire experience of the show because people end up writing things that are way more interesting than what the writers end up giving us, so it creates disappointment. Overall, I think that most Kdramas are not it, but since a lot of people binge watches them, me included (it's the first time that I actually took the time to follow a drama weekly from the beginning), we don't notice the flaws of the drama. It creates 2 groups of viewers and their experience of the drama can therefore be drastically different. Also the binge watching puts you in a bubble of excitement for a couple of days, in a rush I'd say. I noticed that when I binge watch a good show that isn't over yet, I tend to not appreciate the rest of it as much as I used to in the beginning because the weekly wait creates a split between me and the drama. The rush is no longer there and the excitement is gone too, even if the show's writing has not deteriorated in between. I have an urge to watch the next episode and I can satisfy that urge when all episodes are available, but if it's not the case, one week it too much to sort of keep the "urge" as strong as when I finished the previous episode.
A lot of people are waiting for the drama to end to watch it and in a few days/weeks you're gonna have a lot of people coming here saying "well I don't understand why people hated it so much ?? like it was not the drama of the year but it wasn't all that bad, I'd give it an 8" lol
I think I'm gonna stick to binge watching dramas aha.
something I just read on twitter about HJP's "this is enough" scene "The fact he doesn’t have a family nor anyone to care for him and he is SETTLING FOR A PLANT AND THE LETTERS!"
lol, some comments have no business being this painful.
Instead of Njh i would say Suzy didn't do much justice to dalmi as she had a blank expression in almost all the…
circling back to the convo we had a bit earlier about idols and kdramas.. a shame really thank god we had gems this years like flower of evil or extracurricular with no idols or bad casting
Instead of Njh i would say Suzy didn't do much justice to dalmi as she had a blank expression in almost all the…
The fact that she's going to be FF lead in an upcoming drama with... Cha Eunwoo. I'm so mad lol He's going to bring views, so good for her, but he is a TERRIBLE actor, I can't stand him !
Yeah I've seen a lot of dramas with NJH, and for KSH, this is my second drama of his as I watched Strongest Deliveryman…
It was his arrogant eyes for me, the way he would look at HJP, ugh lol But yeah, I wouldn't say he's is an amazing actor either, though I don't necessarily hate his acting

She was so good in Tempted that I had to drop the show because of how frustrating it was for me to see her as second lead. First female lead was an idol (of course..) and her acting was so bad... Wasted potential. I never had second lead syndrome, but she was my first (hjp is my second). The chemistry that she had with male lead was incredible and she was so good that eveyone loved her despite the fact that her character was bitchy and manipulative.
Not really... It's the bad writing... Nam joo hyuk was really good in the first 4-5 episodes till dosan started…
Didn't even finish that one, it was painful from the beginning. My ID is gangnam beauty was pretty bad too!
What I don't understand is why the writer didn't just change the plot to have HJP get the girl? Dalmi doesn't deserve him, let's be clear about that. But the way they just changed the whole script after the reveal to reduce HJP's screen time killed the show! That was the worst decision that resulted in the biggest plot hole (the no letters talk) and so many inconsistencies. Anyway, glad this is over tomorrow.

Yeah, like I just said to someone down in the comment maybe a better actor could have salvage the character a bit. Not to the point that we would have enjoyed the drama, but we could have hated him a little bit less. But overall we can all agree that no matter the actor, the writing was garbage anyway.
Both NJH and Suzy are neither too bad nor too excellent actors. Definitely not bad enough that they can fuck a…
"then the audience found his actions adorable/excusable ( punching HJP, stalking etc etc) just because KSH is a good actor and very lovely to look at then it would be disturbing tbh."
But maybe that's what the audience was suppose to feel about NDS... Like we don't like him so we found it disturbing but they didn't put those scene for us to hate, we were suppose to enjoy them, and it failed. The thing is, those scenes are the kind of scenes that to a certain extent we can find cute (depending on the drama, the actor etc...). So why didn't we find it cute here? Is it possible that a different actor could have salvage the plot a little bit is what I'm trying to say.

We should just stay away from dramas that cast idols that we know are not that good actors.
But overall we can all agree that no matter the actor, the writing was garbage anyway.
