when i read that they removed her scenes because of that, i vowed not to watch. everyone should boycott the second…
It's not disrespecting the other actors at all, only that spineless man. If the rest of the crew (including the actors) had a backbone, they would boycott too. I planned to watch this and still want to a lot, but I definitely won't. It's too disgusting for me what he did.
All of the other autistic main characters in kdramas are savants or geniuses, you should let autistic ppl talk…
My reasoning is actually a bit more complex. I'll try to be short since I believe I'm straying away from the topic. I'm comparing this character in my head to the autistic people who've been painfully aware of the fact they're different their entire lives but have at the same time been oblivious to the reason (for lack of an actual diagnosis). Those people display all the common symptoms on the autism spectrum but are at the same time divorced from the reality of those who've been diagnosed as children. Especially if they live in a society that knows nothing about mental and developmental disabilities, they may be proficient in masking their symptoms. I'm talking about high-functioning individuals and how different those people seem outwardly from this character for whom the thought of faking normal seems to be faaar awaay (which is entirely ok, but I'm saying I have mostly seen this in children). I think I ranted for quite a bit trying to explain what I'm thinking about. That said, I did try to like the drama, I think the main actress is highly talented in this role just as I've seen her before in other roles, but to me some aspects of the drama just seem to be exaggerated for entertainment value, which makes it not my cup of tea. Again, it might just be my personal way of seeing it, and I think it's actually better that there are people who can relate to this character because hey, it means they got their representation at least. And the way you put it, that she's just allowed to exist, is lovely, and actually does help to explain the character, lol.

I recognize this character's symptoms as being illustrative of autism but so far have only seen them in real life children on the autistic spectrum (and sometimes in adult men). I'm also not seeing this drama within the context of western media since I haven't watched a lot of stuff with autistic characters and I'm not western either. However, it's good to know there are actual people out there who can relate to this character, and props to those women on tumblr for speaking out about their experience. I do believe women are more affected by socialization, which is why it's so hard for me to imagine a 27 your old autistic woman being so outwardly weird around a revolving door for instance, but I realise that not everybody has the same experiences in this world for sure.
WHY😡 would you show a toddler this drama??? that is highly inappropriate🤬This is why I always say people…
"she doesn't even know how to properly use content-rating." LOL you're rude. That's for her to decide. My parents would let me watch whatever as a small child and I turned out more mentally sane than a lot of other people I know who've been policied by strict parents when they were kids. Content-rating exists as a means of guidance, not for you to judge.

The stereotypes in this kdrama are exactly the reason I dropped it. Especially for a woman on the autism spectrum, the character is a walking stereotype, not really representative of autistic women out there in my opinion.
There is not a single episode on male victim in the drama EAW. they only show mens are guilty and women are so…
This message is for people like Jammi, who get unfairly bullied by pathetic misogynists: first of all, I am sorry this kind of thing has even happened to you, you do NOT deserve it. Secondly, please tell those people to FUCK OFF (I am dead serious about this, those dudes are weak af, they get scared by strong women who know their worth and who don't take their bullshit).
RIP Jammi, and sending my support for you if you are battling severe depression as a consequence of getting bullied.:)
From KJ we don't know anything yet, I guess we will get his story later but as the comment above told you BJ's…
Exactly, depression isn't exactly logical in that depressed people don't need a specific reason to feel depressed. This is clearly shown from episode 1, if you know what I mean (spoiler: the first suicide thing).
