It has jumped to #3 worldwide on Netflix, #1 with non-English programming. #1 in 28 countries! A new article calls it "the singular K-Drama to watch as 2023 comes to a close", and says that "there's no K-Drama more suited to please right now than My Demon" and how it's "one of the year's standout series." People asking for more characters, when there are already a lot. Usually an adaptation has to excise or merge certain characters, to not stretch itself too thin. What works in a book/webtoon doesn't always work on screen, especially if this will just be 8 episodes. I'd much rather lose some characters and develop the ones they keep well, than have a million characters and feel like we don't get enough of any of them.
park's marriage contract is being watched by everyone who likes a romcom, try sounding less bitter lord
Judging on your tone, I think you may be the bitter one? If your statement were true, PMC probably wouldn't have half the watchers of My Demon on here. Linear ratings matter less and less in terms of popularity and impact in the streaming era.
It makes perfect sense. One drama is targeting younger viewers and is doing really well on streaming, the other is a more ‘serious’ drama that appeals more to older viewers, and is doing really well on linear tv.
This drama's ending scenes are masterpieces. It's always so impactful. Btw I've read so many articles recently…
It seems in part fueled by jealousy because he’s getting so much attention, has so many fans around the world, and is so beloved by Netflix. I see nothing wrong with his acting. I also think sometimes actors with a great visual tend to be underrated, as some write them off as “just a pretty face”, even when that’s not true
I'm glad I read about this before starting it. Now I will wait until S3, where the main character hopefully will be the main character again. If the OG cast is sidelined again, I'll pretend this ended with S1.
Netflix just confirmed they've picked this up from Wavve. They also posted two cast pictures, featuring Park Ji-hoon, Ryeoun, Choi Min-young, Yoo Soo-bin, Bae Na-ra, Lee Min-jae and Lee Jun-young.
Song Kang is a double champion on Netflix Korea today with #1 (Sweet Home 2) and #2 (My Demon). The latter is also #2 worldwide on Netflix among scripted shows, including #1 in 24 countries. 🥳
