I'm still a bit puzzled about romance being a genre listed on MDL and Namu wiki. It does not seem to be the focus at all and most of the promo talks about music, friendship and growth of youth. It's also not categorized as romance on Netflix. We know there will likely be slight romance, but usually that isn't enough to warrant it to appear in the genre section here, when it's not actually a romance drama.
It would be great if Kim Sae-ron got an opportunity like this too...

I think it's a genre thing far more than a "high school" thing. Many people on here don't like melodramas, and especially not realistic melodramas, and especially not realistic melodramas that depict complex relationships that differ from the fluffy happy ever after model.
So when you have a drama that offers angst and possibly with shades of infidelity or an open relationship/break for the main couple, a lot of people just aren't interested because they watch dramas to escape into a cotton candy fantasy world where nothing is painful or difficult.
Of course it's frustrating for those of us who do love these dramas, because the comment section is full of people announcing that they won't be watching (which, okay, good for you?)
