is this even gonna be a noona romance? has it been officially comfirmed, because real life age gap ≠ the plot…
Yes, it's a noona romance by noona romance specialist Ahn Pan-seok. Wi Ha-joon's character will be a rookie instructor at the academy where the more seasoned instructor who helped him get into university a decade earlier also works (Jung Ryeo-won). Workplace romance ensues.
whereas it most definitely isn't a big deal, it kind of shatters the image he has created throughout the characters…
Actors aren’t their characters. Actors act. Knetz only made a fuss because he was with a girl, and then tried to pretend they cared about the smoking/littering. So transparent.
The reporters at this press conference should honestly be embarrassed by their own behavior. Shamelessly hounding a young actor for a minor transgression for which he has already apologized.
Don't you think that kdramas are getting shorter day by day
Not really. There's just greater variety in episode orders. Moving was 20, Worst of Evil 12, Vigilante 8. Dramas on Korean tv are often still 16, sometimes 14 or 12, but also 18 or 20. Netflix prefer shorter orders but often do two parts (The Glory) or seasons (Gyeongseong Creature).
Too bad its on disney who doesnt promote dramas. Moving is one of the best of the year but only a few saw it,…
Moving is the most successful kdrama on Disney+ and they absolutely promoted it. Similarly with The Worst of Evil, where the cast did promo events in both Korea and Japan as well as magazine shoots and interviews. Disney have already promoted Vigilante at the Busan International Film Festival, and are continuing to put out promo material like still cuts, posters, teasers and trailers. They even pre-recorded stuff with NJH for promo purposes, since he's now in the military.
Disney+ can't be compared to Netflix because they are at different points in their journey with Korean content, and Disney are focusing on establishing a good reputation in East/Southeast Asia. Even Netflix are still mostly focusing on E/SE Asia with their promotion of Korean dramas.
I'm gonna be so stressed on Wednesday. If Gicheul dies he better get a great death scene! So far this show is definitely very good, but I do wish the writing was a tiny bit better. The actors are doing what they can to elevate it, but parts of the script could have been executed with more finesse.
It is very reasonable that people who are fans of Go Ahead would question the casting, direction, etc., Usually…
I don't find it reasonable at all. The fans of the original have the original. So there really is no need to worry about an adaptation. If it's not to their taste, they can skip it. Every time we have a remake lately, the comment section is filled with fans of the original complaining. If the original and its cast was perfect, then that's great? They can move on with their lives and not worry about an adaptation they don't need, because the original was already perfect to them.
Instead we have to read endless comments about how the new cast are not doppeltgängers of the original cast members and how it won't be the same because this will have much fewer episodes and since it's Korean it will probably not look the same visually and what if they change this plot line and what if the director uses a different approach and it's ... tiring.
I much prefer the English translation "Family by Choice" for this drama. The current title sounds awkward, and "prefabricated" really isn't a word commonly used in English, certainly not in this context.
He’s not in both seasons of Gyeongseong Creature. Just the second one.
Happy to see him book another drama! I don’t care that it’s a remake, but it does always bring a lot of annoying people whining about how the original can never be matched (like with A Time Called You).
And such diverse ones too! Racket Boys, 2521, Weak Hero, Twinkling Watermelon, High Cookie, they're all so distinct and different. He has the rest of his life to do adult roles, so he should keep picking high school/university roles for as long as he wants now in his early 20s.
