Just one brief gripe here: why change the memorable name to one that almost made me not watch it? Same for the…
Gyeon Woo and Fairy was just the direct translation of the Korean title. The English title is almost always updated. Especially when the original title includes Korean names.
Great start with a 4.3% rating on tvN. Higher than all of their weekend drama premieres this year. Generally there's less room to grow on Monday-Tuesday, but hopefully it can keep doing well. ๐
Sure, there's a palace and it is indeed haunted. But this is neither a comedy nor a romance drama. It will be darker and have more action. So in the end I don't think it'll feel very similar at all.
Why only 6 episodes....kdramas have started reducing the episodes so much...idk much about the original material…
It's based on a play, so 6 episodes should be more than enough. It was previously adapted into a French movie that was 1h45. This drama will be approximately three times as long.
Definitely not true. He spoke of his role in You Make Me Dance several times, and even talked about how it helped him play (another) queer character in The Tale of Lady Ok.
So Ju Jhoon is ML? I know in term of romance is not him, i see some articles with his name before lee jongsuk
Ju Ji-hoon is second billed, yeah. So in terms of MDL language he is "ML" and Lee Jong-suk is "SML" โ but as you say, it's not really like that in terms of the love line in the drama. JJH is likely billed first because it was part of the contract negotiations. Assuming their roles are of similar weight, he has both seniority and a shiny Baeksang to show for, so it's not too surprising.
It's not a single movie. There's going to be 4 more if the first one succeeds.
With adaptations, there are always complaints from fans of the original work. That doesn't say much about whether the project will be a success. That depends on regular folks and word of mouth. We will just have to wait and see.
Something about him reminds me so much of Seo Kang-joon. They have some similar facial features, especially the mouth area when speaking. A little bit of a natural pout going on.
he looks like a promising actor ngl hes rly cute lol, tho im surprised at him having 4 dramas in a row wow?
Getting cast in an Ahn Pan-seok drama is good for a rookie; he loves using the same actors over again. So Midnight Romance got him booked for the follow-up. Meanwhile Resident Playbook was meant to have been released last year, but was postponed due to strikes in Korea.
(Also I can't wait for the bromance to blossom between Gyeon-woo and Ji-ho)
Weak Hero 2
Tastefully Yours
Would You Marry Me?
Next year:
The Wonder Fools
He's keeping busy! Hopefully he'll book a lead role soon. ๐
