I haven’t read far enough into the book to reach the toxic parts. So far, in all the chapters I’ve read, he’s still saving and protecting her. Jinxiu shows up in front of her occasionally. They were trapped in this lady's illusion. I think Envoy Narcissus might be one of Hongning's past lives. At this point in episode 8, I’m not sure if Jinxiu entered the illusion to save Hongning and is pretending to be DF, or if he’s actually his past life self. I just can’t wait for tomorrow to see how the storyline unfolds! They both look so good in mormal clothes, especially Jinxiu 😍
