Honestly, despite the lack of budget, this is so much fun. It's so intriguing, and it keeps me giggling the whole time.

I love slow burn, but usually it happens without any courting. Usually they just slowly develop their own feelings by themselves without ever voicing any kind of affection towards each other because they're scared. Here, they are basically already dating each other every day, and I am growing more and more impatient. I'm very interested though because I think the leads have nice chemistry and I love that they are slowly getting to know each other and slowly falling even more, compared to all the insta-love stories that we usually get. And I like seeing that they're both successful and have their independent ambitions (although I have to admit that I do not care for any of the financial stuff at all and skip them a lot of times if I deem them irrelevant). I've been fine with it going very slow, but they also need to justify setbacks, and currently I don't understand why they went three steps back after finally taking one step forward on new year's.

The only problem with this is that it's too short

Knowing that rebirth plots are banned, how are they going to make the story work here?

I'm glad that I read a few spoilers, so I could brace myself for the ending. Though, there were enough hints.

Honestly, this was such a good watch, with a nice message at the end, even if it leaves a bittersweetness.

Didn't her dad say that he was allowed to come back in 2 years? His reputation won't ever be the same, but he's still not dead.
Anyway, I just mean that this outcome is still more favourable compared to the first life, however her character seems so rotten this time. Granted, we didn't see much of her but Qian also seems so surprised by Mu Yaos immoral decisions, as if she honestly expected better of her.

Seems like Mu Yao became corrupt, and her family isn't even dead this life, only exiled for a limited time.

what kind of game plot is this even? what is the goal of it?

starting week 2 eps, then only one ep a week

I said this won't touch the original, and I do kinda still stand by that, but the first ep was promising, and I really like that we're getting a complete different storyline, and I'm also in love with the comic-esque feeling. My only concern is that I may be falling victim to a for me a very rare case of 2nd lead syndrome.

My roommate and I are watching this together and I told her this would be the plotwise pretty early, and she didn't believe me. But I'm a seasoned Kdrama watcher, at this point there is rarely something that surprises me any more.
It's just sad that with the little queer representation given in TV dramas, they chose him as the murderer.

I said I was curious about this that's why it's related, I don't know how you read it as entirely negative. I used the word "script" for the reason specifically because I know one actor doesn't make the whole drama.

I've watched 16 eps until now and though I find it very interesting, I really dislike the ML right now. I keep watching in hope for at least a bit of character development, but I'm just put off by characters that view everyone as bystanders and not as worthy for anything. Though, I don't know what Jian Hong will do in coming eps, at this point I truly feel Li Xun is the villain of the story. Because if he's nice it's only ever to Zhu Yun, and then it's mostly a backhanded niceness, where you will be mad about something he did, and he won't ever explain himself and then after sometime his action will turn out to be beneficial to what ever situation she was in, and then she feels grateful.
I don't think you have to be nice to everyone, but I don't ever think that there is any excuse for looking down on others, and so far that's the only thing that Li Xun has done,
