realistic? lol more like depressing. this whole show, my goodness has been fighting and loss, why couldn't they get their simple wish, to be together and live peacefully? he was imprisoned and tortured for 8 years, crushed by the discovery that his sister is already dead, double crushed that the witch doctor who could save him got killed. give this man happiness. and Duanwu's pleading at the end for him to not leave broke me. It's such a simple wish that could've been made possible. plus so many unrealistic things happened like you said. the best example is Zheng Wu. omg the man was impaled by a huge spear but he pulled himself off of it and saved Cui Shijiu. i believe he would've lived if not for the burning structure falling on him lol. I refuse to believe that Yan Zijing died, i'm writing my own happy ending in my head. Plus where was Kang Ju in the end? didn't see him at the exhibition. In my ending. the bloodstained pearl was more than a map, it was a cure all. then Yan Zijing, Duanwu, and KangJu can be travelling merchants lolol seeing the world together. -_-

devastated. they both suffered so much, they deserved a happy ending and their wish was so simple, to have a peaceful life together!!!! why WHY writer?!?!?! there were so many cure options. the blood pearl for instance could've been more than a map. Them actually being able to get the antidote from Li Kui, the literal imperial physicians being able to cure this magical toxic water. so many options ugh.
