On Love to Hate You Dec 31, 2024
Short, funny and lovely. The start seemd a bit slow to me but once they started interacting more it was so good! Recommended. Really deserving of 8.5*

I really don't get the hate. Sure it's not the best drama, however, it's not at all bad I really enjoyed it. An average 8* drama for me. The story is interesting, the characters have some depth. Even moments which I found really ridiculous at the beginning had a clear explanation later on (except the ending which was there just to make a HE). And the couple was really lovely and the character development was done just right. In my oppinion it is better than some dramas with annoying misunderstandings and breakups. Especially if you like one of the leads don't sleep on this one because of the bad comments, they're great here. The side characters are also interesting. Sure , maybe not the best way to write a fantasy story but as a romcom I really liked it. I really don't get the low rating, it should at least be around 8*.

It was really great and I just love the ML! ❀️ But somehow the series did not make me too invested even though I finished it in a binge watch and the story was great. Maybe because the caracters were too transparent and most of the plot was quite predictable. Even so it was one of the greatest dramas this year. Recommended. 8.5* from me.

I'm almost to the breakup scene and dreading five episodes of them being divorced. The breakup probably will bring…
Right? How much better would it be had he talked it out with her and together they decided to plot against the bad guy even maybe fake a divorce, that would be a nice plot twist (not a new one but I like those).

As someone who has watched a lot of chinese historical/wuxia/xianxia/other fantasy dramas I was shocked at first…
Ok, at least the ML has somehow longer hair which for me makes it more natural with their clothes and the "historical" era they live in. The first ep kept me engaged and apart from the beginning there weren't many disturbing moments later on (just to explain a bit more, it's because I'm used to the way the chinese do it.. not that the chinese effects are at such a high level. I would never dare claim that LOL I've seen too many bad sets and effects for that). Anyway, for now... to the second episode! 🀩

As someone who has watched a lot of chinese historical/wuxia/xianxia/other fantasy dramas I was shocked at first as I thought I would not get through the quality of the effects, the fights which seem too staged and the modern hairstyles... All of those are such a put off. However I will continue for now because of the comments recommending it for the comedy and story. Don't know how far I can go like this... Let's hope the good parta make me forget the disturbing elements otherwise I'd have to drop.

Really good until ep 35 where it went downhill. ML created a drama for no reason as continuing being happy with the FL would make no difference... Well that way he just wouldn't hurt her. I was almost furious that she forgave him that easily or more like they didn't show us enough of his repentance, the leads didn't talk it out but just got into kissing... I know a kiss can help a lot but I just wanted him to suffer a bit more for the completely unnecessary behaviour. Wanted to give it 8.5* but for the ending I scratched that half. 8* If I ever rewatch I'm gonna stop at the end of 34 and just imagine that the political situation solved itself and this is the happy end.

I have a theory about the no kisses , Wetv had to promise Iqiyi no kiss scene so they could use their cast ensemble…
And with the ML being a writer there is no doubt about the next series to watch... Moonlight rewatch begins now and I won't stop until I watch 100% of their kisses.

Overall, this was a pretty good drama to watch. The one thing that irritated the hell out of me was Ren Min’s…
I get what you mean. This was my first drama with her but I just cannot believe this is how she usually talks. It felt as if she was intentionally trying to sound more demure or sth πŸ˜… But it came out to be so unnatural. Especially in comparison with other actresses who spoke with quite a pleasing tone.

The worst in those later episodes where the many, many scenes of them staring at each other with the OST playing.…
Yup. Just the right time to start skipping... But once you start skipping it goes down the drain... Luckily there were still some scenes to save it and for the curiousity to watch the ending I sticked till the end while skipping.

"it kinda lost the spark it had at the beginning." Exactly, as if the scriptwriters were tired, the series lost…
For sure, the beginning was so worth it!

in china (where I'm from) this show had gone viral for having stuff that were not existent in the old days, phones,…
Yeah it caused quite a stir. Not that the characters have these in the series but those were shooting mistakes like suddenly there was a car going by in the bacground of a large scene, actors leaving their modern mugs and phones on the table and noone noticed during the shoot, or them wearing modern shoes because they had no time/forgot or whatever reason they had not to change into the costume. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ Be sure to search it up to have a good laugh.

I found the first 3/4 of the series to be much stronger than the later 10 or so eps even though the fl and ml were just siblings. Somehow I had the feeling that from around ep30 it all went a bit boring like you know what's gonna happen and they put us through a whole lot of scenes of the supporting villains... it kinda lost the spark it had at the beginning. Even so overall it was a very enjoyable watch. Somewhere between 8-8.5* Also the OST is so beautiful! Going to my playlist.

A bit absurd a bit cute and a bit sexy. Unrealistic situations and realistic sitcom at one place. Ot's not like it's so bad that it's good but more like wtf and aww and hmm at the same time. Fun!

I think I would actually prefer them to just join a family instead of taking over the identity of one family member. That way they could all be together not excluding the real one. I felt this the most in Jenny's eps when the epilogue show the real Maria I just had the thouhgt how great would it be if Jenny made a connection with Maria as a sister as well. Anyways wery emotional show especially seeing the celebs holding dear their time spent during the short 72 hours.

It is a slice of life kind of drama with more of a over all calming vibe. Which for me was a big positive point of the drama. Also that the relationship between the leads was stable and supporting, although starting a bit later than I expexted as a lot of time was given to the ex at the beginnig. What I also enjoyed was the second couple as I often skip scenes with the second leads but here they were interesting and engaging enough not to skip. On the other hand, I would give a minus point (and as I read in the comments many of others would give one) for ending the drama with lot of "mother" scenes (as well as many such "redundant" scenes throughout the drama). Though it is a family drama I would personally like to conclude it with more couple time. Or rather have more couple scenes in general thoughout the whole drama.
Over all (with skipping some boring scenes) I enjoyed it a lot 8.5*

Title A Time Called You Spoiler
BIG SPOILER
!!!! read at your own risk !!!!
Who do you think had it worse (before they all started again)? ML who waited for the FL for 20 years knowing he can't get close because another him is with her, or the FL who had to bear with the death of her beloved only to lose him once again (let's say) a year later after all that?
I just suddenly had this thought of who had in worse in an emotional way...
Ah.. there is also the sacrifice of the ML.
However he knew she was ok and they should be able to get together again after 20 years. And she just "watched" him die again and again. And that, for the forst time, it is a parting forever and the second time with the thought she might be able to go to the past to change things but might not and also seeing his corpse with her own eyes so she can't fool herself as she did the first time...
I don't know.. they're both pitiful.
AND we all deserve a special episode showng how everyone (every couple) is now living the best lives!
