Watching her in Meet Yourself and Blossom through the Cloud consecutively I almost couldn't recognize it was both her. The roles are worlds apart and she slayed both of the characters! She is so convincing as an introverted shy girl as well as the confident diva. Great acting skills! Hope to see her in more main roles.
Grandpa's pissing me off. So badly wanted a son in the family that he gave away a daughter and now talking about…
The grandpa was taking care of her all along. Giving her soup, advice, warm words when she was down. I don't think there is anything to redeem from his side. The decision to exchange the kids was made mostly by the parents and everyone thought it was what was needed. And to be honest it was more for the good of the girl, though later the situation got worse for her new family. So I don't find gradpa giving her jade as redeeming but as something he have always done and totally in his character.
My only thought throughout the first three eps was: How tf did they film this without cracking up all the time? Like being the costars of ARP and him doing the stuff he does here?! I would die from laughter more than ten times already. ππ
The plot is good but there is just not enough space in this drama format to show us everything that needs to be... If it was a full length drama we would see them fighting for certain things and not just telling us how it all went and how difficult it was. We would be there with them throughout the difficulties, fignting for a good ending, and thus be a lot more invested in the result. Not like now where they just announce he got the army, she joined their plans or he happened to survive. This is all quite lowering the percieved complexity of the plot even if the story is there in the background. But that's probably all they could fit into their budget and possibilities so I don't want to be too critical. I would really love this to be full length but even like this they already did very well. And the actors are superb! Looking forwards to the finale and hope to get some sweet scenes and HE!
I really wanted to give this a higher rating because I really loved the show, its vibe, actors and everything. However, I find the ending really underwhelming. Like they could have had him die for real (which would also lower my satisfaction a little) or they should have shown more about what happened, how he only fainted and a miracle doctor just appeared and he was taken away with FL's knowledge or whatever. But how could he just appear like that?! No explanation, no reason, nothing. Got me a lot more disappointed with the show than had he really died. So still a 8.5 for my sentiments but I really wanted to give it a 9 until like ep 32. TT_TT
I somehow didn't get to watch episodes after ep 10 but the comment section is not really helpful in bringing me to watch till the end... Might as well drop it here. There are also many other dramas I want to watch more I guess.
I still find the bat a bit suspicious... How I wish it was revealed that Li placed it there to cause the queen dowager's illness. It would be a good circle of her personality at the beginning of the drama, especially similar with how she lit that general on fire.
I like the ending, however, what happened to Bai Han? Did he just disappear from Fufeng's purification or what? This was a huge plothole for me. Nevertheless I really enjoyed this drama. It was not any worse than many full length dramas.
Interesting enough in this drama somehow I still feel the connection to the real HJH not just the chairman. In High School Return of aGangster, for example, I didn't want them to switch back but here I wouldn't even mind the chairman dying if HJH returned into his original body, even though we didn't really see much of him I somehow got attached. Also I love how the chairman is not black and white nor are any of his children or other characters. It adds so much depth to this drama.
I'm sure there will be more of it, but I'd be surprised if the romance turned out to be better. Two men are on…
And I must also say way way more handsome and compatible with the female lead. I hope they portray the original relationship well, otherwise there will probably be some SLS :D
What I like about this is that even in their school era it's not too much about school. Many other dramas have a lot of school scenes but here the school and outside-of-school scenes are nicely ballanced or even more space is given to the outside. I think that is this drama's charm - the beautiful seaside of Zhazhating. Though I liked the first several vacation / fully-out-of-school episodes' vibe even more. Just to clarify, I don't mean that I don't like them attending school in general but rather the in-school scenes' ratio to the outside-of-school scenes in favor of the outside.
