I love Ja-Young and her parents. Especially the dad. "Ttom, ttom, ttom, ttom... money money money money..." will be my new mantra in life lol. By far my favorite characters are Soo-Jung (she's SO messy, I love it and it's iconic), and probably Kyung-Chae (for some twisted reason.) I liked Miso, but... uh, well look at what happened to her. Seol-Hee is a good heroine so far. (And I love Jang Shin-Young!)
I think you should watch dramas with villain FLs! They're usually quite smart.
I recommend Flames of Desire, The Penthouse (kind of, there's 3 FLs I'd say? Shim Su-Ryeon, Oh Yoon-Hee and Cheon Seo-Jin), Queen of Ambition, and Five Fingers. Secrets and Lies is good too,

True... trauma and society play roles too. I do think that a person's upbringing is the biggest factor (especially with a mom raising her child- she gave birth to them.) The nature vs. nurture debate- which one creates a person or decides how they'll turn out?

The music suits the heavy and dark drama... also, acting is supposed to be over-the-top in a makjang! Especially in a daily drama. (I will say that some of the acting needs work, but the main 4 are fine to me. The show just started.)

Oh my... Milica. 😕 Now I feel bad since I didn't know you were in JI's place before... and uou were a small part of why I stopped enjoying the show as much. I'm not blaming you of course, there's so many other factors, including personal ones. Someone mentioned a negative thing about JI's grief that hit way too close to home when I lost a relative I loved last year. Then Eun-Ho's death... overall. Ouch. Tragic. Some events in the show are just so sad, and JI is suffering a lot. It's tiring and makes me sad. 😔 And then, this is only very few people, but the constant negative opinions about the FL are annoying. PERIOD. She's not a villain, she's not secretly evil, she's a VICTIM OF ABUSE. And if that's the thinking they wanna have, after watching all 39 episodes (like everyone else), don't EVER talk to a DV, IPV, or CSA (or child abuse in general) victim. And I'm tired of me, muself and I, lol, having explain this to people. JI is not perfect and you don't have to like her. But she's still a victim of abuse from her in-laws and ex. Two things can be true at once. It's so simple to understand. She's naive too. Characters have flaws. This is not new. I basically can't even like this FL or enjoy her scenes without virtual eggs being thrown at me. God.
TLDR: People's opinions are fine for the most part. But some of the content is very dark and some opinions are basically umm... incensing. Well, triggering to me lol. And I'm very, very sorry for the things that you went through. It is NOT YOUR FAULT. I feel awful for thinking you were some nasty person at first. 😭

I'll come back later, I promise! If the show improves. I rarely drop dramas, usually I revisit them later on and finish it, or rewatch it entirely (like I'm doing with Secrets and Lies.)
