Well Korean daily dramas are basically soap operas, 29-35 minutes every day, Monday to Friday (usually for 100-120 episodes, sometimes even longer or shorter.) They're usually low-budget, but they've improved in quality over the past few decades/years.
in my personal opinion i feel like the Sa-Ra part was a really good portrayal of her true self and that was Dong-eun's…
Totally agree! I guess we can assume that Sa-Ra was more of a side character than a central/main one. Her backstory wasn't really shown, but I think her parents were religious π€

I get that, it just felt really icky (and kinda cringy) to me- idk, I feel like there was a MUCH better way she could've been exposed. But Sa-Ra was sadly not written well at all, yes...
No spoilers, but he pays DEARLY for his bullshit lol
AS YOU SHOULD!!!! I fell in love with him when this daily aired π ironically I despised him in The Women's Room since he played such an AWFUL character there, he's a great actor!
We finally made it to the flash-forward! Really great episode, probably the best one so far! And the acting towards the end was amazing... Tae-Ju has never lost control like this before. Usually he's calm, self-centered, and calculated. He truly is willing to bet everything just to get more money and power. He kinda reminds me of Tony Montana (Scarface.) I don't see a happy ending for Tae-Ju.
The beginning is messy. Somewhere in the middle is ok the last 40 episodes are just crazy nonsense
I have 5 better daily dramas for you lol:
The Promise Queen's House Wife Returns (I watched it raw on SBS VOD... with a VPN. High levels of dedication here lol) Secrets and Lies Cruel Temptation/Temptation of Wife (obviously!)
If you're looking for NON-dailies: Penthouse (actually, this might be TOO much π don't watch season 3 though) Mine Queen of Ambition (semi-makjang) Angel's Temptation (one of my all-time faves) Band of Sisters
Not sure how I'm feeling about Joo Sae-Byuk's acting here. Might need to do that rewatch of Game of Witches to…
I'm assuming so, yes. Also A Graceful Liar had "3 FLs" too. Kinda. Same with Red Shoes. It makes me wonder if it's a new trend in general with daily dramas. On Kocowa they have the first teaser with subs, but not the new one!
I hope this drama is good too! This does sound like a Lee Do-Hyun/Kim Soon-Ok-type drama lol

Never got up to the middle, but I did see some clips. A LOT of the acting is rough and I didn't like how it was mostly goofy rather than... I guess, revenge-centered, as advertised. WAY too much sitcom/comedy for me. It's weirdly petty but those were some of the main reasons why I dropped it. π
No. I dropped this at episode 13. Just one big mess. I'm not watching any current daily dramas right now, but…
I loved Queen's House and I liked A Graceful Liar too! Started First Man but dropped it. I'm not watching Family Register. I think I need a break from the current daily dramas too π (I finished a few old ones.) But like you, I'm watching the new KBS2 one!
If it weren't for you I would've never restarted this drama. I'm on episode 13 and I am hooked!
I haven't started "Succession" either. While watching "Empire of Gold", I think one of the best aspects is the dialogue/script: it's very poetic & philosophical. Lots of historical references, metaphors, things like that. That's excellent writing. Very rare for a k-drama. I like it, it's like I'm reading a novel! Contrary to the comments, I love Lee Yo-Won's acting and I'm 100% rooting for Seo-Yun now. Love the protagonists, but I prefer her and Min-Jae the most.
I read a Naver blog about that... lots of older actresses are doing more fashion-related things. Not that it's bad, it's just... an interesting choice. π€ As far as I know, they're both married too. That might play a role.

Ooooh so she was a villain! π I don't remember how far I got either...
I think I mixed her up with the 2FL. *She* seems stiff to me, but that might be the editing lol BUT I hope this drama does well. Really looking forward to it! Seems like this writer has done a lot of KBS1 dramas, not sure if that's a good sign or not...

I was a Tae-Poong shooter by the midpoint π I love Kang Ji-Sub so it helped!
