The director confirmed she doesn't haven't DID. I really do wonder what happened to the girl's mother. It would…
Honestly it doesn't matter what director said, what matters most is what we see on the screen. All characters keep repeating she got DID... and they did a terrible job portraying this condition. DID is already very stigmatized in media we really don't need more of that.
Is it just me or this series has really wierd message so far? I'm not sure if I can express my thoughts well in english, but Yo literally did nothing wrong - he's just a little stubborn and hot-headed. Like none of the major problems he caused are entirely his fault or responsibility, and yet he's portrayed as a bad son for causing problems for his parents. He attacked a creepy teacher to save some kid in result got kicked out of school; fell in love with a woman who was taken but he didn't know she wasn't single, let alone that she was with someone in position of power; and now he got bullied and just tried to protect himself - yet somehow for all of this he is told to apologise and that he did wrong? I just don't get why they thought "you should be calm and quiet, and lay low ,and if you're not you should apologise for your existence, and if something happens that could make people talk behind your parents' back you're a bad child" is a good message instead of something more healthy and logical like "while something happens try to think before acting" and "agression is not always the best answer" and "when parents try to help you get back on your truck by sending you to school, think about it before dismissing their idea"?
Because it's labeled as being from Singapore, and MDL doesn't cover that country
I tried to submit The Sparkle in Your Eye to MDL shortly after gagaoolala added it on their website but 6 days ago they rejected it because it was labeled as from Singapore but I remember that it was labled Chinese when I was submitting
Honestly, I liked this show a lot more than I expected I would, especially considering the fact that I really disliked the manga it's based on lol Really hoping the second season is gonna happen
Even cursory googling of DID reveals that it's not like this at all, five distinct personalities switching at…
omg sameeee, I totally get you. After watching ep1 I felt assured because they showed the doctor saying she doesn't have DID but something he doesn't know, but in ep2 Sun said to De that she has DID and I'm not sure what are they trying to do anymore 🙄 The way they potray her condition and the cause of it that they showed in ep1 is nothing like DID, like you said. I would prefer all characters to stop calling it DID
Gosh I'm so confused with ep4 because why on earth would he ask her to come for family dinner? I really can't understand his motivation at all lol Was it to see with his own eyes their interaction? like to see if there's really nothing like Akari said? Did he did the same thing in manga, is it explained there better?
I mean it didn't look like she had DID as a kid but her condition grew into DID
I said it's fictional disorder that's kinda similar because dad said that doctors said her condition is not DID but something else they don't know what plus from what we know she did not expierience repeated childhood trauma that would cause the brain to develop incorrectly and cause DID
Oh, so she doesn't have DID like description here says but some fictional disorder that's kinda similar. Hmm maybe it's for the best as at least they won't potray DID in an incorrect way
I can't find any trailer but there is a teaser https://x.com/onedofficialth/status/1846868429384667178 I wish there was a better longer trailer or maybe even a pilot because from this one I'm not sure what it's supposed to be about lol
it was shown at several film festivals in 2021-22 in Korea and the US, but I can't find any information if it will ever be available to a wider audience :(

edit: also on d-o's discord for those who don't have d-o account
