Me too.. really like their relation,.. she is also a pleasant person and their conversations usually are funny... Most of the time.. when he is quiet.. you can see his head is busy and he is planning his next move...lol! Ci Sha is wonderful in this... such a steady person..
Ye Xian’s character is so complex, and Winwin truly did an incredible job portraying him — such a powerful performance. If Deng Kai was the star who shined after “PoJ,” then Winwin is definitely going to shine after this drama.
Being the sickly son of a great warrior, unable to hold a sword or join the army, Ye Xian grew up surrounded by ridicule and pity. It’s not easy living while constantly hearing people look down on you. GJZ, however, never treated him that way. Instead, she argued with him, challenged him, and fought back against his volatile temperament like an equal — especially when he acted like a brat.
That scene in Episode 17 around 24:30 between CYY and YX was especially meaningful. CYY, while controlling his anger, explained things to YX so clearly: Why should I betray my mentor and risk everything just to help your household? Instead of wasting his life being ignorant and incompetent, YX should use his head and focus on protecting and rebuilding his own family instead of expecting outsiders to save them.
The irony is that CYY was already the one quietly helping YX and keeping his household standing. He knew GJZ would understand his intentions without him needing to spell everything out, and he trusted her to pass on the message. He can always count on her — even when it puts both of their families at risk.
GJZ is intelligent, clever, and someone who learned deeply from her grandmother. That’s exactly why she could understand CYY’s intentions immediately. They truly are a perfect match. YX, on the other hand, can only really remain a good friend because his reactions are far too unpredictable.
Episode 17 also showed that Fu Hailian’s intentions are far from pure. He was clearly involved in plotting against the Marquis, and we also got to see how brilliantly CYY outsmarted him. Honestly, it’s time for YX to stand beside CYY instead of acting out of jealousy and throwing accusations around. I also feel like FH is going to start making calculated moves against CYY from now on because he finally realized that CYY is far smarter than he initially thought.
I’m genuinely enjoying this drama so much, and the chemistry between the main leads is incredible. The way he asked her about YX before finally making his move… “Then what about me?” Every word he said after that felt like he was laying his heart completely bare.
She loves him too, but the realization hasn’t fully hit her yet.. Plus her father's example, hence she told Yuping, the more powerful a man, more wives and concubine he will have... these are fears she has... At the same time, she knows he is one person she can truly count on ... but cannot casually manipulate or mess with.
He’s such a mature and composed man — the only time I truly saw him lose control was when he thought she was leaving for Shanxi to run away from him.
My goodness… the emotion and concern on CYY’s face when he meets her at the inn that night. You can see him struggling not to pull her close and demand answers immediately. But that’s exactly why those scenes work so beautifully. He’s a high official, a mature man, and a widower — he cannot allow himself to act impulsively. Even in moments of deep worry, he remains respectful and restrained. That’s what makes the contrast with Ye Xian so striking. Ye Xian grabs her hand to stop her and question her like a passionate young man who wears his emotions openly. Meanwhile, when she hurts her ankle, CYY gently asks, “May I tend to it?” That difference in maturity between the two men is always so intentionally shown. And after her mother’s death, Ye Xian truly went out of his way for her, even breaking social norms to support her. So I wouldn’t be surprised if GJZ feels moved by that devotion. But with CYY, I think it’s something different entirely. She trusts him deeply, but it feels closer to admiration — almost reverence for someone she believes she could never get close to. She keeps him on a pedestal. Amazing acting by all these actors, making it so beautiful.
Ep. 14. It was heart breaking, 😭 😞 .. And our girl is going to be so shattered remembering even after asking, she didn't call her mom, I kind of understand her reaction, esp if you remember, when she was small running to the door of Ji Manor hoping her mom will come to take her and feeling so down.. And finally running away to Gu Manor and have her father didn't even permit her to enter. . She grew up with so much pain, it's not easy to just forget all that and call Hey Mom...! But she was making an effort to get close to her.
Her mom was a clueless person, imagine asking her husband after all these years asking if he married her for Ji house support, she didn't know after all these years he is the most selfish person who manipulated everything for his benefit only.
I want her to scheme and unleash the mother of fury on her father and Gulan.. 🤔

GJZ and YX are both hotheaded... and good thing about her is she is mindful of people and circumstances.. whereas YX is tortured soul. you heard the way the gang around teacher described him, thats how everyone talks about him, thats why he lash out... bcoz he is a Marquis's son.. no one will say anything back to him.. except GJZ... He doesn't know GL hid the letter... but whipping her was unforgivable.. I dont think even CYY understood what happened...! I really like YX.... but ofcourse.. i dont want GJZ to end up with him.. but be good friends.. he need a good friend...
