I also loved that women could band together and fight the real villain instead of squabbling between each other while the mastermind is relaxing behind, which has always been patriarchy's strategy so women don't fight for their place at the table but for some crumbs of poison on the ground.

Just finished the novel - can't wait for this!

The mother of the Lord of Wei drives me crazy - to be so stupid to be played by every Dick and Harry...

She also has terrible trauma that all the people she loves leave her either voluntarily or involuntarily so she cannot let herself love and be loved due to fear it will be gone again. Hope she ditches her toxic family and heals her trauma, or at least start the path of healing.

Really shows that hot guy is not hot by being a red flag. And being a green flag is not boring.
So tired of the whole "toxic guy needs the 'right' woman to fix him" only pushes people into toxic relationships and doesn't happen in real life (being "fixed" by the 'right' woman).

These toxic family members are so draining. Not doing anything when she needed them as a child and even abusing her but now her life is established - they come out of the woodwork "wanting to take care of her [her mother]" - just crazy.
And the junior intern... what is he expecting to happen, really shows harassment can happen by anybody and in any circumstance. He is only "annoying" and not 'scary' because of his bubbly personality and he is not much bigger than the FL. But showing up at her home...going into stalking.

I watched it because the of the ML actor but the drama is an overall watered down version of the novel... If watched as a stand alone it's not too back but compared to the novel...

Rating fell so much from yesterday?...

I am confused for the 'low budget feel' of the drama/script there are a lot of famous actors and actresses.

Liu Chang doesn't have a redemption arc so far (by end of ep 29) - he wants to be married to the princess when married to Mu dan and when set to marry the princess, he wants to be with Mu dan. Despite his parents and the princess trying to kill Mu dan, he continues to cling to her as if she can't die fast enough...

He specifically degraded her for being a lowly merchant obsessed with money, "wanting to bribe people, not understanding his high values".

Liu Chang didn't want the shame of having a lowly wife so he got to be the lowly husband serving his wife...

I want it tomorrow.

Also, Mu Dan was incredibly hurt in that marriage and while it is not addressed in detail like with Sheng Yi, it is there. She doesn't want to marry again as not to be abused and live a carefree life because she doesn't trust a man would respect and cherish her.
She can heal from the trauma, and achieve her goals - hate it when "love" suddenly changes the whole character of a character...

Because they went in another direction with ZGQ's romance and "decrease" the bromance chemistry on purpose. I find that new romance very unconvincing.... is it in the manhua?

Of course the only way to survive after leaving an abusive marriage in society is to make money and have power in your hands. If you have no money at all, will be forced to marry anyone as not to be homeless...
