So, at the rooftop scene of EP3, we see that after Adachi confesses that he didn't hate Kurosawa's kiss, Kurosawa gets tense and ask Adachi if he understands what he just said (and indirectly what he heavily implied). In the drama, Adachi acts confused and says "What?" watching a determined Kurosawa stepping forward in order to kiss him. But in the manga it was a bit different:

In that same scene, after Kurosawa asks the same towards Adachi, we see a panel of Adachi, shyly looking away first and the next panel nodding while blushing (and then we see Kurosawa stepping forward again). I thought it was an interesting change from the manga and got me surprised. So, I wanted to ask those who have read the manga, what did you think about it? Do you think they should have kept it the same as in the manga or the already changes in the drama can lead to this other reaction too?

I would like to discuss a scene about EP3 but it also involves the manga, so I am going to put in a spoiler just in case.

I noticed right-away and thought to myself "this is foreshadowing for the huge change in Adachi's life". I love when writers do the the flash-forward so early and create anticipation for what is about to happen that makes the MC act this way. So, glad you brought it up here since many fans might not have picked it even after the re-watches and it adds to the nice discussions.

Ok, I see the similarities now. As I said I haven't watched OL in a while so I mostly remember more "in your face" stuff and forgot many of the details you posted. So yes, it's plausible that CM got inspired by OL in some ways. I like both in their own unique ways of telling a love story.

Ok, now that makes sense. EP3 had some camera work that the previous 2 episodes didn't have, the editing style during mind-reading (slow-mos) and the intensity in Kurosawa's look in certain key scenes. Do you happen to know where I can check who directed and wrote an episode?

I think I read it too although the interview was kinda big so I kinda skimmed through it fast lol But it's really nice that they want to reach more people and it's working, even though not the legal way.
I haven't watched OL in a while, so I am probably forgetting stuff, but I think the relationship in OL was more in the open and blunt, aka Maki was very straightforward (pun intended) about his feelings towards Haruta while here it's Adachi who is reacting towards Kurosawa because he can read his thoughts.

Please, there is no need to thank me. I wanted to write something honest about a series I watched, so I used words that are true to my feelings and not to offend the fans (not that I have a negative opinion of the show, as I enjoyed it). But yes, I dislike the whole "A series is better than B series because..." and then speak ill of it. Sometimes it's better to close our mouths when we have nothing good to say as there is no need to say our opinion every time.

I am glad to see many positive comments here and how the situation in the story related to so many of you. It's good to see that the hard work of people on and off camera got a response and supported them through the end. I hope both "Pearl Next Door" and "Gameboys S2" have the same luck :)

I mean it's a pretty creative way to tell a story, so props to them. It just doesn't work for me very well but I am open to see how it goes.

Watched the 5 episodes today and I enjoyed them! Good series, with a cozy feeling (I love their apartment) and good actors. The prom scene was very beautiful and the OST is amazing too.

Yes, I do agree with you about the actors. Fluke killed it as the episodes were nearing the finale and his break down scene was absolute amazing, it gave me chills. But yeah, Ohm can definitely improve which is why I said it could be the director telling him how to perform for his "vision" of the character and since I haven't read the novel, I can't say much in regards if it's the same or different character.

Sure, whatever you find enjoyable! The whole thing is subjective: what I like, you hate and the opposite happens as well. I don't really have a "fixed" type of relationship I prefer because sometimes I might like the troupe (eg, enemies to lovers) under a certain story or the execution is good that it attracts me and other times, I might dislike it a lot and not go near it haha

Tbh, I find Dean/Pharm boring but that has nothing to do with how Dean respects and cherishes Pharm. I think my issue is that either the character, the actor or the director, or a combination of all three made his character appear flat on screen with barely any facial expressions and reactions. I haven't read the novel so I can't talk about that, but for the series that was my impression. There are male characters out there who can don't follow the non-con elements and are nice, which is something we shouldn't even praise and talk about in first place because it's common decency, but alas my point is even if you have relationships like Kurosawa/Adachi or Dean/Pharm, it also matters the execution, direction and acting of everything to make it appealing to you.

They would appear sooner or later, regardless if the series would become popular but of course if something becomes popular, it will attract more "bees". The thing is, that we can't stop them from expressing their opinions, no matter how stupid or awful they sound, so the best way is to avoid and block when we can, because when you interact with them, it only gives more ground to their "opinions".

Some of the silly stuff in the series will be taken out of context or meaning, eg as the other user said that one of these "fans" thought of Kurosawa as a perv because of the PJ thing. It's a harmless thing and it supposed to show us that Kurosawa is so in love with Adachi, that he is hoping that one day they might be together and he is preparing for that, even though he knows that chances are super low due to them being both guys (of course his innocent wish will come true in the future). But it never hurts to fantasize and hope, especially when you are in love!

I would refrain from calling the fans of the series delusional, that's just plain rude. As I said, the series was good, it had some nice themes but it's not really my cup of tea with the online discussions and I didn't feel the chemistry between the MLs. As for the rest you commented that you didn't like: I agree with some (jealous bf arc) and disagree with other (Pearl is not annoying for me).

Anyways, people have likes and dislikes, especially in something as subjective as a series. I am glad to see a lot of people enjoyed it because that's why fictional stories exist and even though I am not one of them, it worked for others and that's what matters. But I am curious: you seem to dislike it a lot yet you watched all of it. Wouldn't have been better for you to drop it in that case? For example, series I don't like go directly to "Dropped" section and I rarely bother to bring them back.

Excellent start! Direction, cinematography, acting, chemistry and OST are on point. I hope it continues that way and I am sure 4 episodes are enough to tell their story. I kinda got some "Winter Begonia" vibes in the start due to the Chinese singing and I hope we get to see more of it - if not, that's fine too!

But yes, I will agree with the rest of you here about the price: I get it's their product and they want to profit from it, but 12 USD (10€) per episode with no availability to rewatch is way too much. I also get that international fans are complaining that Thai fans can watch it for free, but it's a product from their country, so... Anyways, I hope the complains about the price can reach the higher ups and change it: either make it free for everyone or if you want to profit from international fans, then lower the price and make it rewatchable.

A good series, using the current pandemic situation as a background of difficulties and obstacles between human relationships but also showing hope and understanding while incorporating a love story through all the stages of love two people can experience even if the real world out there is a mess.

I think the whole thing was done pretty well but I am in the minority here and don't think it's that great. Tbh, I didn't really fell the chemistry between the MLs and the whole thing taking place through social media didn't feel "real" to me. What I mean to say, is that I am used to face-to-face interactions in stories and while being in the pandemic now and using social media is how we communicate, at the same time I didn't enjoy it. But that's me, everyone is different.

It had great moments about loss, separation, love and friendship although I think they kinda dragged it with the jealous thing but nothing too much. Anyways, I think this is a good start for Filipino BL series and they can definitely be a good competitor in the Asian BL industry. I am more excited for "Pearl Next Door" tbh because we rarely have good GL stories, so good luck to both series!

I found this series accidentally on twitter and holy sh*t, what a breath of fresh air in the BL world! I ended up reading the available translated chapters and it's one of the very rare occasions where the changes in the adaption are complimenting and making better the source material (at least for now). Both Akaso and Machida are doing great in their roles while the direction is easy to the eye and makes the story flow naturally.

I ended up watching EP3 raw (with my limited JP and what I remember from reading in the chapters) but of course I am going to rewatch again once subs are available. Waiting every week for an episode is torture but this only means that I love the series enough to feel excitement.

Also, as others have said before, it's really nice to see a comment section with barely negative comments/discussions. I mean, nothing wrong with negative stuff or complains regarding the series, as long as you are civil about it, but this one brings joy to its viewers and you can see it here. I hope it continues that way :)
