Love in the hands of writers

Poor MaRo was treated badly. This brave boy sought revenge for his arbitrarily destroyed life.
In the end, the evil was done, a mild punishment was meted out to the main criminals, but the most destructive of all was the attractive MaRo himself.

That the love of the main characters ends tragically was known since EunGi, whom MaRo loved, had sexual intercourse with the dubious lawyer Park. This consistently and irreparably destroyed the whole love story. Why, was there no other option for their difficult love that cost us a lot of nerves and hopes?

In the end, we are left with a bunch of loose ends, a presumably dead MaRo, EunGi who might be with one of her cheaters. Yes one could make free-floating guesses. Very unsatisfying, downright annoying the whole thing.

There was a consolation for us sensitive souls in a quasi-separate final chapter. In an obviously fictional story, the lovers found themselves in a kind of modern-day Xanadu. A village by the sea, bathed in pastel colors, it was the place of their longing.
MaRo, who had lost his memory, and EunGi seemed strangely empty. His voiceover described that he would find EunGi again in his next life and live his happiness with her.

Everyone should think what they want, the writers probably think. Don't get angry friends, and peace on earth!

Bonus: unappetizing love triangle

Three quarters of the story was misery, toil, humiliation, violence, humiliation, sexual abuse. The rest was similarly depressing. The good guys suffered permanently at the hands of the bad guys, there were never any mental recovery phases.

A gloomy play for forgiven people who want to find a comforting peudosense in the incorporated Buddism.

The whole children's friend thing was misleading, one of the friends liked to act as a mean perpetrator. The fact that the FL was turned into a whore was also down to him. Nevertheless, she believed she owed him something, believed she had to be grateful for the benefits she had received: Do I have to understand that?

Enough writing about this ugly series, it was another waste of my life. Amithaba!

Have a good trip

This series was pleasingly nice and friendly. Adventurous, entertaining, creative, an exciting adventure and fantasy story. The main couple had a sweet love story from beginning to end, without triangle garbage and side-kick bullshit. Other interesting relationships developed as the story progressed.

So there are authors who are obviously creative enough to do without side-kicks as the driving force behind a story. Bravo for that!

The actors are great, I especially liked the bunny girl, whose background you can find out for yourself. But she's adorable. Only at the end there's that standard separation of the lovers again, obeying an unavoidable China story compulsion.

There is to be a Season 2, albeit without Wu Xuan Yi. This bunny is said not to have been good enough and another actress is said to have been chosen. I haven't found anything about a Season2. Does anyone know anything about it?

Nasty work of art with superfluous depictions of violence.

I would like to know the name of the unspeakable author, who is responsible for sadism, violence, torture, rape, psychological terror, especially at the end of the series. I would not have expected the Chinese Film Control to allow such filth.

The various cruelties took up a lot of space, and the filmmakers wallowed in detailed depictions. The bad guys almost always had a free hand, but the plot was anyway only the vehicle of the disturbed filmmakers for their favorite themes: Forced sex (in front of the tortured lover) violence, humiliation, poorly motivated mostly by jealousy.

The revenge on the villains are short and very mild for the misery they have caused. Instead, the heroine even skins her own breast as revenge on the chief criminal!
The wretched work torments us for four and a half (4.5) hours! But the revenge sequence lasts only two (2) minutes, which is filled with superfluous talk about childhood mistakes. Finally the end comes with a quick sword stroke, mercifully for the criminal.

You sick writers, hey director: what's wrong with you? Shouldn't you better get psychiatric treatment before you spout such filth?

Nice story, nice actors, nice happy ending

A beautiful story, for a long time one of the most beautiful, for me perhaps the most enjoyable ever. Central, besides a criminal case, is the endearing conflict of the beautiful princess with the capable but arrogant writer who is convinced of himself.
The writer becomes a detective, as his well-known sharp sense is needed to solve an outrageous crime. Circumstantially, the clever princess gets involved.

Many uninspired stories almost turned me off Asian shows, this one from Korea was great and very amusing. What was pleasingly absent were the otherwise inevitable annoyances, such as annoying love triangles, gratuitous cruelty, human badness of the main characters, ridiculous misunderstandings, and whatever else might ruin an evening after work.

Needless to go into detail, friends of shallow entertainment. I enjoyed this funny, friendly and yet exciting story.

Don't read this review if you hate spoilers and are easily excited!

The hero is successful in his studies and soon in the business world. As a result, he arouses the envy of friends who soon turn against him.
At some point, the revenge chapter begins, settling accounts with enemies. The revenge later changes from settling accounts to forgiveness.
Pity prevails with whining and crying, the ML finally allows mercy to prevail.

Obviously we should learn to forgive and to forgive instead of punishing.

But one should then also keep the extent of torment and brutal meanness to the extent that forgiveness is still possible and does not seem absurd.

His girlfriend, "Princess", the FL, abandons him, later they get back together. Her share of forgiveness for the criminal is particularly large. Shame, one thinks, she should actually be by the side of her long-tortured friend.

Many critics gripe about the toxic ML, saying he's cold as ice. Put yourself through what he has to suffer serially.

The FL is criticized as well, even for not getting her parents' culturally customary consent for the relationship. These parents beat their daughter, hold her captive and do all sorts of other monstrous things - consent from these parents? Only so much, they should go to hell.

Although, especially at the beginning, the story is quite interesting, I'm reluctant to recommend the series, because as soon as it starts, it goes full throttle through mess and misery.
Save yourself the many incomprehensible character jumps, don't get angry, make love instead or go to the pub. Maybe she is sitting there! Or him!

Post Scriptum: I hope I didn't spoil too much, according to the rules of etiquette in the forum.

No pity, late mercy

This thing, I don't want to call it drama, this nonsense, is not borderline at most, except maybe for some of the first episodes.
Peng and Ting, the authors, must be severely traumatized, otherwise they would not be able to write something like this. I will spare myself and you extensive descriptions.

But just one: When the shy heroine falls heartily in love with the ML and marries him, leaving him for understandable reasons, her lightning transformation into a cold avenger of the ML who has misbehaved is an incomprehensible imposition.
She presents the following to the remorseful ML who wants to get her back, who realizes his mistakes and wants to change his behavior: FL has not only acquired a new lover, a rather weird bird, in a very short time, no, although she was particularly shy, she implicitly let this lover impregnate her after a few days, or a few weeks.

This takes the shaken ML by surprise, who goes back home broken.

FL's repulsive story does not prevent the ML to think of something else and whimpering and begging, ready for any concession, crawl back to the FL- bitch, who continues to treat him coldly. In the end, he sucks up to her despite her reluctant attitude and is then allowed to serve her.

Now I have already written too much, friends of the deviant trash film. I read devastating reviews beforehand, but I didn't want to listen to them. Obviously I had to feel the pain myself and then cry about senselessly wasted life time.
Heartfelt condolences and sincere thanks to God,

Sometimes you don't know whether to laugh or cry.

FL is supposed to be a confident, strong woman. A woman disguised as a man in a Military Academie.
But at any time she is put down and humiliated by comrades. Every underachiever watches her, and looks down on her. But the guys gather around FL, despite her disguise as a man, and fall in love.
Although the boys are not supposed to be gay. FL is supposed to be a man, a soldier, an officer. To believe this balancing act even in a C drama is hard.

Lovey-dovey, flirting, eroticism like in a contact yard and that in a barracks, you have to come up with that. For now he/she has four admirers, why are not eight or twenty-two? What was going on in the Chinese army? Even if soft crazy rich big shot kids are the actors here and future officers.

Despite some ridiculous developments of the story, much was exciting and hard circumstances of the time would be hinted at. You could guess what bitter evil times are on the horizon for China. As for the drama, sometimes more seriousness would have been nice.

Because, unfortunately, some things are out of place in the story, considering how Sino-Japanese relations have developed historically, up to unimaginable cruelties of the Japanese in the Sino-Japanese War.
But love in times of war is normal, unfortunately we come up a bit short here.

Action, doctors and romances from the fridge

The author probably has no experience with romantic relationships. Is she a desperate wallflower, knows love experiences only from novels and movies? No feeling. Nowhere.

When the main couple's relationship should pick up steam, FL starts giving the boyfriend and viewers emotional cold showers. She gives lectures that are supposed to make her feelings clear, but sound like instruction manuals for vacuum cleaners. Only when she talks to ML about her ex, her time with him, and her suffering of the breakup does she come across as more emotional.

ML, an excellent, attractive man, the kind you rarely find, is just a constant gardener of this silly plant that rarely gets her appreciation.
In real life, most men would give up and wish FL luck in her expected new relationship disaster with the old hoodlum.

FL gets praised often and a lot. All the Mary Sue moments are annoying, unfortunately you have to endure that with almost all female authors.

Jonny Huang is great, while Li Quin has to portray an emotionally impaired person. She plays an emotionally cold person perfectly, although that probably wasn't intended. Never have I seen such a cold relationship portrayed. Too bad. LiQuin is a great actress and very sweet. Why do they do this to her?
At one point the script forces her to say, "If women had any sense, all men would be single forever." ...and men in hydrochloric acid are a solved problem, hahaha. Emancene bullshit!

Other forists have presented other actors, there is some misery. Well, despite annoying impairments, the series was sometimes entertaining.
However: I prefer to keep silent about developments towards the end of the story. There are some things that simply can't be depicted. However, we understood the good-human intention and thank you for the fish.

Last not least: I would urgently recommend the author to change her profession. Not only romances are not her thing

Round & Square.

A series is, of course, a made-up story. It's just a movie. But the foil is the known reality: How do people deal with each other, how are social and economic conditions? Some things are obviously different in Asia/Korea than in the West. So many things seem strange to me, in detail:
The wage-dependent manager Jo Soo Kyung, for example, allows herself a tone toward her boss, the FL, that ranges from coercion to impertinence. In addition, she presumes to manipulate the FL's private life and personal relationships in an irresponsible manner.

She would not take responsibility if she destroyed the FL's happiness in life. She acts out of selfish motives as a matchmaker and on the other hand tries to prevent the FL's relationship that she does not like. We know that in boy/girl groups probably often bad conditions prevail, but here there is only 1 boss and 1 manager.

This raises the question: Is this common behavior? I don't really believe it, it will be due to the exaggeration of the authors.

Moreover, FL has to deal with the aggressive, threatening and possessive behavior of the ex-lover. His way of yelling at people, screaming at them, intimidating them, is it allowed? Has no one ever spontaneously kicked such a bastard in the face for unacceptable behavior?

Despite the above gripes, the series is mostly enjoyable and amusing entertainment. And Yoo In Na: how cute and attractive is that woman!
All the good stuff gives points, friends of the night!

We doesn't deserve this!

The most beautiful girl in Korea, Kim So Hyun, is being used for such crap. Have you no decency?
My review must be at least 500 characters in length. I just learned this. This is bad. Where can I get her with conviction?
More text for this bullshit? No, better take this:

To be there in velvet, yeah, to give 'em a smile
It's good to get high, and never come down
It's good to be king of your own little town

Yeah, the world would swing
Oh, if I were king
Can I help it if I
Still dream time to time?

It's good to be king and have your own way
Get a feeling of peace at the end of the day
And when your bulldog barks and your canary sings
You're out there with winners, it's good to be king

Yeah, I'll be king

Not bad, Ms. Park!

It's quite funny how many commentators do an overall review of a series, here too, listing story, characters, with first, second, third and finally the final score.

We learned this in school, it was called a reflection essay and here we apply what we learned. How beautiful, the school was not completely in vain, friends of the night.

I would like to celebrate here, deviantly, the merit of the author, that is Park Ji Eun, a beauty herself (is a compliment allowed, nowadays?). She writes creative, beautiful stories, from "Blue Sea," that wonderful story, to "Love from the Star," to "Crash Landing." Others, I am sure, are also excellent, but I have only seen these three by Ms. Park.

All of her stories are interesting, entertaining, also suspenseful and very romantic, the romance without drifting into the ridiculously cheesy. She never resorts to rude and brutal bangs, as is common in other shows, bravo, Ms. Park Ji Eun.

I wanted to get that off my chest, because dramas of the author scene are often poor. And what were the last words of the American poet William C. Williams on his deathbed: "There are a lot of shitheads out there".

Poor emotions from the freezer.

Quite without discussion of the whole misery here are some small remarks. Sorry for everything:

In a pub, Momono Nan insults Togawa, whom she barely knows, as an idiot and a fool. In episode 10, she insolently and impudently interferes in his private relationship affairs. Then she explains what he has done wrong.
Is it permissible in Japan to interfere in other people's affairs in such an insulting way and leave the restaurant without a black eye? Or is this the inspiration of incompetent writers? Here, in the West, at least many would advise her to mind her own business.
But the embarrassing relativization of the inexcusable impudence follows immediately, of course. All in good fun, right? And thanks for the fish.

Enough grumbling, by the way, I don't want to discourage anyone from watching a moderately exciting, often slow-motion film. The romances are also unexciting. Somehow the young people are always terribly sad and depressed. Have fun, one wants to shout at them, party, make love and let the good times roll!

And we learn that a disability, which is relatively easy to integrate into everyday life, seems to be a huge problem in Japan.

A little more skinship! I would have found good...

The story contained many little annoyances, script annoyances, but I don't want to overstate them. For example, the idiots of the stronghold, Deng+Sheng, let themselves be provoked to come out during the siege, so that enemy Tian Shu can also come in. So what qualifies the idiot Li Sheng to take over the leadership of the Strongholds later on, instead of the capable FL, who was beaten disgustingly by Mom throughout her youth? Well, that's just a small note on the side.

Overall, the story was still nice, with the nice little big romance and non-stop adventures. A love story, with no messy love triangles, no brutal torture, no nauseating forced marriages. Thank you.

Intermittent boredom spots were sometimes distracting, but I was able to grab an occasional beer from the fridge during that time.
I didn't notice the age difference of the main characters. Zhao Li Ying is cute after all and easily passes for much younger. Even if she sometimes looks like Tweety, the lunch of Tomcat Sylvester. And Yibo did his thing well, too.

Side kick Li Yan was annoying, her articulations alternated between screechy and super screechy, she should have been left out. This marginal character had an outrageous amount of screen time. Li Cheng, the boring loser, also had too much of it and all at the expense of the main couple.

A lot of reviews here, I can relate to. Guys, you are all right. But what the heck, entertained myself quite well and give this thing a 9.

Fox and hare say good night to each other...

Quite a mess this series is, but at least it doesn't hurt.
Dramas with foxes are usually interesting and creative. That's not really the case here. Everything is kept quite simple. There are all sorts of recurring scenes, sometimes you think you've called the wrong episode.

Also this: many actors here would have to already have calluses on their necks, from many choking scenes. For that, they fly around frequently.

The FL bores, it is but ok for the ML and what more do we want. It's love!
