Horror movie with a heartfelt plot

This movie is good enough but not on that splendid level yet.

The cinematography is excellent and is able to create that eerie atmosphere giving tension and the sounds also helps in setting the overall mood of the film. The story is enriched with something relatable and easy to grasp however for horror enthusiasts, the horror factor isn't much of a thrill.

Ha JunWoo and Kim NamGil on a film is really a delight. These are the actors already proven their versatility in acting. Kim NamGil's role made a new perspective of an exorcist. It combined the old style of shamanism and the modern tech savvy kind of exorcism which is present in Western horror films.

HeoYool who potrayed YiNa and Shin Ah who portrayed MyungJin is also on a different level with their acting. Watching them is really heartbreaking. In reality, children may be young but they do have feelings.

If you want to watch a movie that is more than just a horror film you must watch this. For those people who doesn't like jump scare horror, this is a good pick as well.

Every episode felt like an awesome journey that's worth the watch

Before watching this series, I actually received a lot of recommendations for it years ago telling me how awesome this series is. (Not that I didn't believe them, I just kind of have a LOOOOOOONNNNGGGG list of series to watch and I'm glad I finally had the time to jump the Vagabond ride.) When I started watching it, I also had worries and doubts because I've also read a fair share of comments about how the ending is so much of a cliffhanger and how much a lot of people is still waiting for a 2nd season. (Specially worried because I hate series without closure.) But still went on and started it. The first episode didn't impress me, it took me some time to continue on the next episodes and boy this is one of those series I'm glad I took the chance on.

I was worried the story will feel draggy with me having to watch 16 episodes just to find out what really happened to this air crash but I was completely wrong. Every episode was an adventure that literally kept me on the edge of my seat and blew my minds off. At some point, I was like however the ending goes, the whole journey spread out across those 16 episodes is already enough for me. And it is. (Although, the ending gave me mixed emotions, this series is so giving that I still love it the way it is.)

Cast-wise, I feel like everyone executed their roles to the best that they can. I can't imagine any of the characters being replaced by someone else. However, despite the fact that some scenes gave me butterflies in my stomach, I can't seem to find Suzy and Lee SeungGi having 'that romantic' connection really. (Or maybe I'm just more invested on the Action-Thriller side of things, I'm not sure.)

Anyway, OST-wise I don't remember anything notable although that doesn't bother me anyway. If a second season comes up, I'll definitely re-watch this series. I definitely recommend this series, this is one of those that I never expected to love this much.

5 short horror stories about the strange and creepy events that happened on GwangLim Mansion

I was amazed about how the short stories are somehow intertwined together although they have a totally different experiences. All of them narrates different stories about the previous tenants and people involved in GwangLim Mansion. The characters don't really know each other but they bumped into each other at least once throughout the movie giving off that feeling of familiarity although they were like separated by mini episodes, it still feel like a full movie.

A bit of disappointment though is that the stories were not really explored that much which made me feel like it lacks depth. I thought that the first hour of the film will serve as build up and the latter part will wrap it up nicely however unfortunately, it remained flat until the very last scene. We know a bit about the mysterious and strange building but there's not much explanation of as to why. I was actually waiting for something more like was there any connection that led JiWoo (SungJoon) there aside from trying to get ideas for his webtoon. Something that will give that surprise factor or that 'I didn't see that coming.' I also felt bad about DaHye's character (Kim BoRa) I didn't even know why she was there. I felt like her screen time was less than 5 minutes. Such a waste of talent.

On a positive note, this film is easy to watch. Even for those people who doesn't like horror movies, I can recommend this. There's very little jumpscare that it won't make you jump. The background music might give you the chills though as it really set the mood of the scene. It was made to feel like you're where the characters are. I pretty much enjoyed it and I kind of want a prequel just so that they can dive deeper about the past of that mansion.

Light romantic comedy with a pinch of BDSM101

The curiosity led me to watch this movie and SeoHyun is here too sooooo I was excited. It's kind of a unique genre from what I usually watch so the story is kind of so-so for me. Here are the main things that you can expect in this movie (without spoiler)

- SeoHyun's sexy side ♥
- Light comedy romance that's kind of predictable if you've watched a lot of romantic comedy before
- Mostly portrayal of BDSM on a simple and lighter way.
- No too much provocative scenes. It remained on the decent side (very unlike from 50 Shades trilogy movie)

If there's something that really stood out for me about this movie, it's the fact that it changed my ignorance about BDSM. I have always thought negatively about BDSM because I cannot understand why some people are into that however this movie made me realize that BDSM are merely self preference. It is not disgusting or strange. It's just that some people are really into that and we should respect that.

If you're a fan of SeoHyun, definitely watch it. If you're curious about BDSM, it's a beginner version with no too much skinship involved. If you're sensitive about seeing physical torture (mild) like being tied, slapped, stepped on, etc., you can skip this one. If you decided to watch it, I hope you liked it.

Short, sweet and feel-good movie you can watch anytime

I was amazed how they made the 10-minute short film worth it. There's nothing extraordinary and special about the story itself however it is simple, direct to the point and just sincere. That's the charm of this short film for me. This also made me an official shipper of YeoBin and YoungJae. They look amazing on-screen.

I definitely recommend that you watch this short film. It's so short that I might actually have spent more time writing this review than watching it. I swear your 10 minutes will be worth it.

All the elements were good except the story

I admit this has been a thrilling ride and a very good acting for the casts however the pointless plot really disappointed me.

Applause to the wonderful casts who made their characters come to life realistically. Park ShinHye showed a range of emotions into this movie. The psychopath also made her character undesirable than ever which means she has done a great job.

The story is pretty unique with this time warp concept where the past and present affect each other as it is expected. It was a quite complicated story but I was able to follow, it's just that this kind of genre is not really something that I am a fan of. Also, I was looking for some sort of impact that will keep this movie on my mind but instead it just made me wonder, "so what is this movie really trying to say?"

I personally don't like it because of the story but if you enjoy similar kinds movies, the cinematography and acting is something that you can look forward into this one.

Did I watch a horror or did I watch them go crazy?

Well, first off I'm not really a fan of horror but I do watch and appreciate it once in awhile so for those who might have loved this movie, this review is completely my own opinion.

I kind of get what the storyline is trying to say but I don't feel really engaged on the movie itself. It's kind of boring and it makes me feel like, 'just tell me what's gonna happen just to get over it.' It could've been more, maybe if there were just factors that kept me curious or engaged, the ending might have blown my mind instead of me being like, "Whut?? Again?? Really??" It's also unclear 'til the very end if this is a supernatural horror or just a mental illusion.

I have little to no expectations and I just really came here to see Jin JinHee and I'm not disappointed about that. I didn't know she was that cute when she was younger. She's like a walking and talking doll. At least that's a positive point I've seen in the movie.

Well as for recommendation, if you have lots of time in your hands, why not watch it like me. But if you're just trying to put watching in between your daily life, I highly suggest that you watch "Insane" instead because that literally blew my mind. It's not a complete horror at all but way better than this one.

Irrelevant and non-comedic

This supernatural movie did an excellent job for it's computer graphics and visual effects but seems to fall flat on its storyline.

There were lots of scenes that I think unnecessary and the story itself seems to be lacking. The premise where the main lead gained superpowers is understandable but the rest of the movie got me so bored that I only finished it since I started it anyway.

This is one of the movies usually suggested on my Netflix feed so I thought why not give it a try. I wasn't expecting anything because most of the Korean movies I've watched before always left me thinking why did I even watched it and this is definitely added on that list.

Don't get me wrong though, I felt like the message that the movie is trying to convey was good regarding the love between the father and daughter, it's just that it wasn't highlighted that way. And on the brighter side, it had a happy ending so I think all is well. The casts were actually good as well specially the father. He actually felt relatable and his portrayal is very realistic.

Overall, I don't love the movie much but I don't hate it either. It's more of a so-so. Maybe it's not my type of movie but other people might actually like it, so watch to see for yourself.

Unexpectedly great and very realistic drama

This is a little bit slow-burn drama. On the first 3 episodes I've watched I am like "another affair drama so cliché" but then it suddenly show it's true colors and made me really into it. And here I am, I finished the drama and can't get over it.

The storyline started as a mystery riddle on who the hell is this great man and good husband's mistress in the team. It was masterfully played as everyone seems to be the mistress until they start to reveal the life of these girls one by one. Woman 1, the girl who really looks sophisticated and elegant full of confidence and secrets. Woman 2, the girl with ambitions and a working mom trying to excel both at home and at work. Woman 3, the woman who looks really naive and nice with very low self-esteem and is deeply wounded. The wife who's almost perfect until she knew that his husband is cheating. I won't tell anymore about the story but so far this is the summary of the first 3 episodes that made me literally sleep.

All of the characters really justified the role realistically. I cannot imagine this drama with a different set of casts because it will really feel off. I love that I find myself rooting for the characters, cursing the characters and crying with the characters as if I'm part of them. I rarely feel connected in a drama in a way that I feel moved and relate to them as if it's happening to me. The songs used in this drama is very subtle and it fits perfectly in the mood. It wasn't overpowering and it definitely not distracting.

This drama really exceeds all of my expectations and has a lot of life lessons as to how to value yourself and deal with the struggles in the world. It's like a reminder that it's not just you. All I can say are words of praises for all the casts and writers and everyone who made this drama possible. It really deserved all the attention it got from the public and I really really recommend it.

Action filled with really unexpected twists and turns

If you want movies with a twist that will make you say, "Whoa, I didn't see that coming" this is the right pick. Plot-wise, it will bore you on the first half but then towards the end you will realize that the first half has a great contribution on why this movie ended with a BAAAAAM! And it's for you to find out why.

With the casts, of course Hyun Bin and Yoo JiTae are really one of the best actors I've watched. The supporting roles are also common faces in dramas and movies so it isn't hard for me to appreciate them together.

All throughout the movie you can also feel the tension and also the actions going on, but when you're about to figure it out, the gears will start changing and give you a different direction. I personally was taken aback and felt like I was conned myself.

Are you ready to dive in the world of con artists?

Drama that rose above criticisms

This drama started with bunch of criticisms but rise above everything to prove it's worth. Both YooJung and ChangWook proved their versatility as a professional actress and actor. It just so happens that Korean culture might be different than the rest of the world.

Th plot is cute and fresh. The comedy is made out of ridiculous scenes which are actually funny. YooJung and ChangWook's chemistry is romantically cute and funny. It wasn't the best romantic-comedy I've seen but I really loved the it. GeumBi and DalShik's romance is also one of the scenes I anticipated the most. More than romance, it also tackles family drama with a lot of heartfelt scenes that brought my eyes into tears.

There were some premises in this drama that might be uncomfortable for sensitive viewers like the fact that SaetByul is way too young for DaeHyun, but if these kind of things doesn't bother you, I can assure that this drama is worth the try.

I'd love to experience the New World myself

I love this show for various reasons such as the concept, the casts and the location it was filmed. The overall theme on this show is dreamy and very fairytale-like.

Let me start with the concept. When I saw the synopsis of the show on Netflix, I really found it interesting. Throughout the show, the whole idea of New World has been explained clearly. This variety show reminds me of Busted!-like framework wherein there's a plot/pattern that are being followed but at the same time it is not scripted and the characters are able to express themselves freely.

The casts are also big personalities on the variety show world like SeungGi, NaRae, HeeChul and JiWon. On the otherhand, Kai is known as an EXO member and BoAh is a known actress. They really have a good chemistry together. Competition and games aside, I think they really fit well on this show.

Before I forget to mention, the filming location is fantastic. Based on my searches it was filmed on Oedo Island and everything on the island is breath-taking. I would love to visit the New World myself.

Overall, I love this show although I do admit that I felt like some episodes are
a bit dull but it's just a small part of it. Besides the 8-episode fits perfectly on my busy schedule just fine and made me laugh my stress away. I can't wait to watch a 2nd season if there will be one.

Loved the acting but the story failed me

This thriller movie could've been better. The casts were able to execute their roles outstandingly but the storyline is too lacking. Too much complications just to express that spending time with your family is way better than spending time on your work.

For most parts, more than the curiosity about what's happening or what's going next, confusion prevails. Usually this kind of movie is slow burn where the details are given on the first part and it will unfold slowly towards the end giving that 'wow factor' but this one did not. It kept me hoping it will get better towards the end but it didn't. It left more questions than answers. On a positive note though, the music was able to set the mood of the movie giving out that creepy and eerie feeling.

The main lead Song JiHyo and Kim MuYeol executed their roles outstandingly. They were able to make their characters stand out by giving that mysterious vibes that fits perfectly on the theme of the movie. It such a shame that storyline didn't do well to match up their superb acting.

I personally watched this because of Song JiHyo and it really makes me sad because JiHyo is such a versatile actress and I really love to see her portray different roles but the storyline always falls short. No matter how good of an actress she is it's impossible to save a bad writing.

I know most people who knows Forgotten also felt this has the same vibes but for me, I think Forgotten is a better movie. However, for a fan of JiHyo like me, this is still a decent movie to watch and we get to see JiHyo on a different role.

Revelation of dark secrets of a school intertwined with the students and their high official parents

This crime, legal, mystery-suspense filled drama portrays the entangled and dark story of a school being reigned by privileged parents and their children creating an imbalance on a proper function of a school. Even though it was set on a high school, the plot is really dark and the tragic theme is all throughout the drama. The drama even started on the murder scene itself.

Plot-wise it's drama that will pique your interest by making you wonder what will gonna happen next and who is who although I felt like it lacks texture because the plot is linear. It's about the main lead trying to expose the dark truth about high officials and their privileged children which is the same with similar genre drama, the only difference are the details itself. There's a lot of complications introduced every episode that will confuse you but the flow of the story is linear, there are no plot twists to expect. There are also lots of illegal things that the main lead did that was absurd given he's a lawyer but I get that the intention is good. What I love on this drama though is that most dramas are just light that will make you feel a roller coaster of emotions from being sad to happy but this drama is not about those. While watching it, I felt the pain, the helplessness, and realized the absurdity of people. If you're into tragedy type of genre this is well recommended.

The casts here are new faces for me, aside from Yoon GyunSang whom I've seen from other dramas before and he's still a good actor. His character grew emotions throughout the film which he doesn't have when he was first introduced as a lawyer who only have eyes in winning cases. For the other new faces I don't have expectations. Geum SaeRok is a new face to me, she's good at being bubbly and being the 'good teacher' but since the story starts to become darker and heavier each episode I felt like she's a bit lacking on expressing negative emotions like sadness. Jun is the one that I mostly noticed here since his role has the most complexity. I saw how versatile his acting is because I also fell for his angelic attitude and when he switched into a bad guy mode, I literally cursed his character BeomJin.

Overall, I liked this drama and every episode I keep wanting for more. There are lots of things that I've learned her like life lessons together with the characters. I loved how each one of them grow from all the events and tragedies that happened. I felt like I was with them.

Unexpectedly thrilling, funny and ridiculous at the same time

When it comes to the story plot, it's actually unique given that it has all the genres you cannot possibly think of together. At first I thought it would be just a typical rom-com story just a different scenario but I was shocked because it explored drama and mystery genre while keeping it's romantic comedy side. It was good overall however the combination of mystery and comedy at some scenes makes it look childish to me because it shows how serious the character is then suddenly it becomes a comedy out of nowhere. Also at the ending part for the reveal, the story seems not connecting to me. It didn't gave much of what I expected like an impact or the 'wow factor'. But still a nice drama to watch for starter plus the story isn't that long either consisting 10 episodes.

The casts is like a bunch of good catch. I got to know new faces that I haven't seen before like the 2nd lead and also Mir, the main lead's rival.

It's irritating when the sounds gives off that creepy/mystery vibe because I think it's exaggerating. Sometimes I get confused about the emotions to feel. I'm not so sure if they want me to feel thrilled or if they want to make me laugh so I just ended up confused and appalled. But plus points for the songs that NakGu sang. It is sooooo cool. Double thumbs up for that.

The story is overall cute and it's also unpredictable so I might be part of the 'out-of-nowhere I want to re-watch' drama
