yeah I had more expectations, though it feels like a plot issue, there are so many series that by this episode we would be maybe in the middle of the story, but it still feels like first couple of episodes. Like where the story is going? what hurdles will be sent their way? even the threat of the father doesn't feel threatening (is it because we have watched so many dramatic BLs?) I read ABOverse for many years now, can't say it is not accurate but the pacing and the story is all over the place

I had the same mentality as you so I started the book last week but I should warn you, it is waaay more intense than the series and you might miss a lot if you don't read the previous chapters
