back then because of trade and other stuff probably, they influcned each other but if you look at cultural stuff for example clothing, music instruments, foods, habits, a lot are the same or similiar. China was very big during old days and powerful too, so they influenced a lot to the smaller countries besides them. the most obvious influence that i can think off are chinese words, its used in japan and korea and even till this day, its used in japanese language :)

as for jdrama, there lust be this in game too, but not historical, maybe a game world or another dimension but not like this one

no i don't think its a dream, its jsut that their souls have travelled and not their bodies. It's like how xiao tan of season 1 'fell asleep' on the bed and travelled to dongyue but in the end woke up like nothing had happend
finished watching, loved it! tho at the end it was quite a big chaos and mess, most of the drama was pretty lighthearted and pure nostlagic feelings to the previous 2 seasons, they more recalled season 1 stuff than season 2 stuff, i'm surprised they never mentioned 8th prince face mask hahah I really love pugu general's character, loved it! there are still plot holes but i hope it can be answered in a new season! :D an I do osomehow wanna know what happend to this parallell world, cause it was left in such a big mess who became empress/emperor in the end?
