not defending anyone here or anything, just wanted to share my opinion about this. Everyone has their own taste in dramas and everyone has their own liking of certain actors/actresses and such. Imo, Gong jun is not a very good actor (yet), I have not seen Word of Honor yet (if I do watch, it's also not for him but for Zhang Zhehan) but I have watched Unique Lady. enjoyed watching it but honestly, his acting didn't woaw me. The plot was also very meh. If not for the eyecandy, I would have scored it low as well. Aside this there are big dramas other people like which I disliked and drama that I liked other peolpe disliked. I agree on the fact that she does need to do less ranting, but I just wanted to share that there are different opinions out there and it's normal not everyone likes the same things.

yeah she could be a key character in the future, hell I think she might even end up as a concubine or consort or something for later politics stuff

hmmm yeah it was very vague but i don't think it was filmed just to go over it, it might either be a really important hint for later or something.

one thing I am still questioning and wondering i forgot to add in my post earlier.
What happend to miss Luo? She left with some bandits and disappeared. I wonder if we'll find out more about her in season 2 becasue Ning Yi suspected her of also being a modern person and with now his enemy also appearing in this historical setting, it might just be right!

I really enjoyed this drama!
It started very light and fluffy and there was lots of comedy which I liked. Liked the characters, the main and supporting cast and it just felt right, natural and not forced.
The chemistry is good between the characters and it was comfy to watch.
Many people didn't like the bandit arc but I really enjoyed it, it's laying foundation for character development and for later things happening in the story (which may be a big thing for a season 2)
It's a bit unfortunate that the female lead didn't had much screen time in the second half of the drama but I actually didn't really miss her. She was there, there could be more of her yes, but this entire drama really was about Ning Yi. Everyone is is a supporting character actually.
I do hope in the second season they give the female lead more screen time or more information on what she's doing because at the end of the drama, I felt like it told us indirectly she had opened shops in the capital city as well, so she's still a merchant while Ning Yi busied himself with political matters.
It's a very good drama, I barely skipped anything,e ven the boring political parts were good enough for me to keep attention and nothing too boring. This entire drama was well made, and Guo Qilin really did a great job! Can't wait to see more of him.
I also like his character, Ning Yi is just a very good charachter, he's smart, cunning and has good morals. Liked his character development even though I wished he could just stay away from dangers and enjoy his married life ( I mean, i wouldn't mind watching 36 episodes of his married life xD), we're going to see more action and witty things because his enemey of the modern world somehow ended up in this other world as well. Looking forward for season 2 but for now, I have thoroughly enjoyed this drama and I truely recommend it to people. It's not cheesy nor forced upon you, it's a good interesing watch ^^

we don't know the complete details though. She gave the uncle and the cousin tot ake care of the shops inside Jiang Ning becasue she herself wanted to go with her husband, she didn't want to stop him from doing graeter thigns and also doesn't want to not able to see him.
We saw Tan er weaving clothes so it's very possible she opened shops inside the capital city, for example the waterproof fabric would really sell over there!
i do get how you think tho, i was also a bit iffy about it but then after seeing she was still weaving clothes, iw as like yeah maybe we jsut didn't get the details of her opening shops in the capital city ^^

yes it was very very very emotional! indeed he was telling his stories but people grew tired of it, only to have him apss away and nig yi regretted it so much T_T
that antire second half was indeed very emotional and just so sad in many ways T_T

woaw I cried so much at the scene when Ning Yi went to sit at a bridge when he arrived back in Jiang Ning and imagined Lao Geng there, I was bawling my eyes out at that scene T_T

i don't find it tedious nor boring at all, I really enjoy it cause of the development of characters and laying foundation for somethin bigger later in the story. I can't seem to unerstand why people find it boring, maybe cause 'nothing much' seems to happen but tis actually all happening

yeah thats true :S I have good hope tho sinceJoL seems to have the same actors? mostly? so ihope they'll eb able to do it for this one too

does someone know where I can find the instrumental version of the ending song (the song used in episode 7 for the poetry event)? It's often sued as a background song for emotional scenes with no singing text, only the instruments, seems a bit slower too, I can't find it anywhere T_T

i think it's not allowed for broadcasting stations so they find other ways to make it possible like its a story in a story or something but webdramas sometiems still do transmigration

why give him more than 1 wife...? Even if the original story was a harem story, this drama has changed a lot, I do not see why he has to have more than 1 wife. He's a modern man, polygamy is not in his habits....

the way the drama is going and its pacing, its witht he mind of having another season

its not just give up body to get revenge on her father and brother. She's using her way of yes gettign revenge but maybe also has other plans... It's still her body and she can do with it what she wants. And unfortunately and horribly, this is like one of the few ways to get closer to the enemy, catch them off guard and then do something to get revenge or other plans...

Everything that happend here (tho i did msis the FL sometimes) was a buildup, its development of the characters

when i noticed the bandit arc ws being made quite long i already know, they're doing this with the mind of making a season 2
it's making foundation for later developments in the story that might take place in season 2
this bandit plot is needed for the stories of another season.

it's interesting and it's laying more layers for further developments if it really goes deep into palace politics
