Hmmm, I think I can understand your thoughts. It was a bit black adn white but not really? Like I dunno how to explain it but to me, he still did things that weren't ok. Yes, he was capable of being soft and innocent, but only to children, those that he saw himself in. but to others, he wasn't like that at all. He was 'punishing' thoe that definitely deservedc it but he also killed 'innocent lives' to get stronger. Those things, made him getting punished for the evil thigns he did. I think maybe the writer indeed had another ending planned, we don't know though.

I don't think he ever wanted to be king because he also told that to his mother, the queen. I think in that situation, there was no other way, he probably was thinking of enthroning someone else after succeeding the fight, but in the end it was never needed. He also thought the king was dead, but when he saw the king was still alive, indeed that fighting spirit kinda disappeared. I could understand it though. But I an also understand how disappointing it could be for some watchers ><
He was never plannign to be king because he didn't wanted to end up like his birth father and end up alone and do really brutal things to keep his power and the throne. He jsut really disliked how his birth father handled thigns and also detests yool Mu. After all the fighting, he realized, he really jsut wants a peaceful life with the people he loves, nothing more.
