I remember dropping the anime but this live-action is so fun to watch >_< Edit : I'm rewatching the anime. So great. Idk if it's only me but I feel the drama's mc has more playfulness that makes him more interesting to watch.
Just finished ep 28! So exciting! Can't wait for the next one! I didn't really ship any of the characters in the anime, but I'm really shipping Akira/Yu Liang and Hikaru/Shi Guang in this one! I'm glad the drama decided to develop their bromance a little more. Hehe! And of course, Sai/Chu Ying is amazing! :D
Best adaptation series ever. I love it as well as the manga. All the casts esp the main roles can live their characters so well. They really did a great job in this series. Loved Chu Ying and Shi Guang. Can't wait for the next eps.
Let's soothe our wounded brains that have been brutalised by so many badly written dumb dramas! Hikaru no go is a soothing balm for dramas watchers: my brain and my heart feel treated in a very dignified way (so far at episode 5)!
I have to appreciate the production team for respecting the original work. Shi Guang's name means "light" which is the same meaning as Hikaru and Yu Liang's name means "bright" which is also the same meaning as "Akira". Even Yu Liang's Go board has the name inscription "Akira". I'm sure the fans of the original work will appreciate this a lot. No wonder the rating in Douban is pretty good at 7.6, which is quite impressive for an adaptation of such a phenomenal original work.
Means the original novel is BL (boys love), but China's censorship don't like rainbows, so they usually tone down the BL element to be more of a strong bromance, with varying levels of success.
Edit : I'm rewatching the anime. So great. Idk if it's only me but I feel the drama's mc has more playfulness that makes him more interesting to watch.
