While I do think if they actually made the ending be them going their separate ways with no hard feelings (which was the ending I think all of us expected), I would've been fine and found it to be realistic. But on the other hand, I also still do think this ending they gave to them instead where they gave each other a second chance is also very much realistic. They misunderstood each other, finally took the time to communicate clearly (even if it took 5 long years), gave each other a second chance and are trying again. So, no complaints from me tbh, was a delightful watch.
As someone who's played the games and treating this as an alternate universe from the original as it is not a 1:1 adaptation of the story whatsoever, the first three episodes are okay. They're really not bad, but not really intriguing. They've promoted the show from the very beginning noting that the show is *very* loosely based on the games but practically all of the yakuza community missed that and chose to only pay attention to rage-bait article headlines like "the cast never played the games" (the staffs did as well as Aoki and studied Majima as well) then they're surprised it's not a 1:1 adaptation.
Anyhow admittedly, I still wouldn't say this is a good introduction at all to the games as the story, characters and vibes even are vastly different so please do check out the games if you're somehow somewhat slightly interested by the show. By the time you're in Episode 2, you already get the feeling this show is very much a crime drama that just happens to use the names or likeness of the characters from the games and there's all there is to it, that way you can let loose and enjoy it more. Really hoping the last three episodes are strong enough to redeem the show.
good "simple" watch. ep 2 could've been shorter imo. only 3 episodes unfortunately leaves little to no room for the main characters to have their own character arcs to develop thus making them two dimensional and for the audience to care as much as the main focus of the drama is justifiably more about the patients' lives and them embracing & living with their respective mental conditions.
First love hits differently. It's been 15 years since my first love ended, but if he turned up tomorrow in front…
though i do agree, i was just mentioning first love thing as an example or reference because i dont think this is their first loves though even more the reason for them to already have gotten over their relationship but i do would have to agree with your comment on first love bond
anyone else feel like, even though they're doing the melodrama parts very well, they weren't together for that long and/or neither were they that close together near the end of their relationship for them to still be yearning over their love 5 years later? it was a very short love (almost like one of those first love at high school that dies out) that they both had that slowly died out over time. personally not only would i have gotten over it at that point but i feel that it's more realistic for one to have already moved on given their situation. one stopped having feelings for the other person, one misunderstood her, though granted having typed that, it does seem like it's a relationship both can immediately fix but for them to still be thinking about it years later isnt so practical but who am i to judge lol
Let’s say they didn’t show any flashbacks, how would the audience know what happened? Basically in the future…
Crazy people are complaining about the flashbacks. How are we, the audience, supposed to root for them to make amends/get together if they're only showing us the angst in the present but none of their time in their past for us to digest.
iirc it's not that he didn't enjoy acting, i believe he felt it was time and/or wasn't too interested in being in the entertainment industry or being an entertainer on screen hence why he just lives a very peaceful, private life nowadays as we can see on his instagram
a bit of a random comment but i really like seyoung's voice especially when she's narrating, it's so soothing to the ears especially when you got headphones on lol
Part is she didn't want to ruin his life/career prospects. When they were seeing each other, she witnessed how…
Ah I can understand why and it's a totally valid decision, I suppose. I still very much feel that it's dead wrong to take the father out of the equation and to not even try to communicate any of her thought process to him, in person especially. Whereas Yayoi, in person, thoroughly explained her reasoning to Natsu as to why she couldn't accept being Umi's mother and chose to break up and Natsu grew to understand her feelings but it felt like throughout the series (up until the final ep at least) he was just kept in the dark and was left with a bunch of questions, passive-aggressive comments and distress.
Did Mizuki ever actually explain why she chose to leave Natsu in the dark regarding her choosing to having Umi? Even in the final episode, seems like she only ever talks about not regretting having Umi. Like, Tsuno literally asks why did she chose to keep quiet about Umi to Natsu and she didn't answer, she just went "You mean, Umi's father?" then Tsuno cuts her off for some reason and asks a different question if she regrets doing it.
personally for me i've always been part of tsuno hater nation all along lol
oh i did watch and i do sympathize with his feelings wholeheartedly, i just don't agree with how he treats natsu whatsoever. maybe he's still grieving over mizuki hence why he might(?) say things out of hand but doesn't excuse him from making natsu feel less of a father and/or a partner
I just finished episode 9.. and I can't help myself but feel like Mizuki is one selfish bastard and I hate her🌚…
I felt for Natsu and Yayoi so much in EP9, since the very first episode until now I still firmly don't agree with Mizuki's decision to not tell Natsu. Caring for your own happiness is reasonable and all but not at the cost of other people. I want to like her character (seems like the writing makes you feel like you should??) but nah she's honestly so selfish, I doubt that relationship realistically was going to last long anyway if she can't be bothered to communicate something so life changing with her partner.
