Is it really that good? I saw it already has an 8.3 rating after only 4 episodes. I’m not really a fan of Gong…
it’s honestly refreshing to see a drama with so many interesting tropes; office romance, meet-ugly, sexual tension, strong “mysterious” female lead, the FL having a higher position in the company hierarchy than the ML, and slow burn (for the romance part at least). it’s really refreshing. also i love the few OST songs released so far. id say go for it with low expectations.. by the end of episode 4 you should know if it’s a drama you’ll want to continue (PS. also a fan of KJW 👏)
I am the only who disliked the main leads? The guy stabbed Nari knowing she was possessed and the girl dated him…
Me too! The adult shaman couple were the coolest and most interesting characters with well-rounded personalities. I wonder if the teens, the main characters, were written simply or a bit two-dimensional because they’re supposed to be young and somewhat naive but they all lacked depth.
FWIW, The script 'The Grand Prince's Wife of the 21st Century' (aka Perfect Crown) is an original work by writer…
True! Maybe it’s a coincidence, it happens! ^^ I’m mostly just a sucker for pattern recognition, so once I spot a parallel I kinda project my Wangxian hindbrain onto it lol.

Oh I didn’t know; thanks for letting me know! I still find some similarities but tbh I’m very wangxian brainrot so I tend to transpose them onto lots of medias… Namely, the similarities I’ve noticed are: FL in red and ML in blue : the same color duality as Wei Ying and Lan Zhan + him secretly liking her since high school (yearning LWJ energy); him catching her doing archery after curfew and quoting rules at her (ಥ_ಥ) and She’s stigmatized, he’s “perfect prince” but chooses her anyway. plus the strict royal rules, political tensions.. all in all this would be a good set up for a fanfic with these characters in a set up similar to this drama. ;)
I just realised our grand prince is actually called Lee Ahn, which is pronounced as Yi An! MDL has misled me.
Lee=Yi=이 the romanization of 이 can be both yi and Lee. there’s a chance the synopsis was written before the official translation/romanization came out.
I love it so far. Regarding the dynamics between FL and ML, it reminds me of mo dao zu shi :) i think the director gets inspiration from chinese webnovels in general (alchemy of souls)
randomly thinking back to this drama today because the ost played on shuffle. i cant believe it has been over 10 years. i still remember it was so good and my teen self was shipping the ML and FL so much lol.
