just as good as the 1st season

*Watch the first season (The Eternal Love 1) before this one if you haven't done so already! The Eternal Love 2 does not make sense as a standalone drama.*

The storyline, albeit a similar synopsis with season 1, remains captivating. We are always rewarded with heartwarming love scenes along with funny ones that make you burst out laughing. I am very happy the same cast returned to work together for this season. The chemistry between the female and male lead is reflected prominently through their romantic scenes. In the previous season, the female lead acted out two different people with opposite personalities; this time it's the male lead's turn. It was a bit confusing distinguishing them in the beginning, but as I watched more episodes, it was apparent to me who was who. I am impressed with how the male lead is able to portray the two personalities well without being overtly over-the-top.

I really love the friendship and loyalty between Xiaotan and Jingxin. FINALLY, a drama where the female lead's friend or trusted one doesn't turn on her as time goes on. The soundtrack is beautiful and melodic--just as season 1's soundtrack was to me. Also, I'm usually not a fan of fight scenes because I get confused with there being a bunch of people swinging swords around lol. However, the uniquely choreographed fight scenes were very entertaining to watch.

I am so glad I picked up this drama series. The first top reviewers seem to prefer the first season more, but I like both seasons 1 and 2 equally. Besides, without one, there is no other. As long as you're prepared with tissues, you'll love the journey The Eternal Love 2 takes you through.

(I feel a bit sad now that it's over, but I can't wait for what comes in season 3! )

the villain is eye candy

I stumbled upon this on Netflix and I was intrigued by the trailer. If you enjoyed the trailer, I think you’ll like The Ghost Bride!

I went into it not taking it seriously, but I was pleasantly surprised by some of the acting. I would say that the story gets a bit off track because it felt rushed towards the end. Despite the fault with the story, it was immersive enough for me to keep watching until the end. Nevertheless, it was a fun drama to watch (and you get to see the cute villain).

hilarious and heartwarming <3

I literally made an account JUST so I can write this review. I finished this drama today and I am absolutely in love with it. I was so sad when it was over, but I will definitely be re-watching it.

The first episode got me hooked immediately which was good because I am an impatient person where I will drop a show if it moves pretty slowly. The plot and background were developed nicely without any rushing or slow pauses. There were intense parts where I was worried and parts where I cried and parts where I laughed. It is a well developed historical drama. I typically don't go for historical dramas because they seem to always get too political for me, but this one is perfect. It is a perfect balance of storyline, comedy, and romance.

The chemistry between the lead female and male (Chen Qianqian and Han Shuo) is so entertaining to watch. I think all the actors/actresses did great. I was so immersed in it that it felt like I was Chen Qianqian at some points lol. I got attached to all the characters in the cdrama which is a rarity because I never really think twice about the supporting roles. However, even the side characters get a great personality and it's just so refreshing watching all the interactions.

This show made me feel some type of way and it's a perfect distraction/escape from life as it is now during quarantine. I really recommend watching the show!! If my review doesn't convince you, I hope the others will because it is well worth it with a satisfying ending. (I hope they make a season 2 though! I'd love to see all the actors and actresses get together again.)

everything all tied up in a little bow

Came for the cute romance between the two leads and got more than what I expected! This is a simple drama to watch with a forgiving mix of romance and comedy. This drama is exactly what I was looking for when I needed something light to watch amidst other more "serious" dramas.

The one thing I really enjoyed about the storyline was there was no shaming the "poor girl" nor is the "rich guy's" mom spiteful towards her. I love all the familial relationships. But other than that, there wasn't really anything special about the plot. It has all the ingredients for your typical kdrama (not a bad thing). However, I did feel like it dragged out for a bit. Perhaps I am just impatient and considering that the episodes were an hour long, but I pushed on! I don't regret watching it. Like I said, it's a fun drama to watch so just don't take it seriously :)

What really carried the show was the acting especially between the male and female lead. They have so much on-screen chemistry it's insane. It really sells the story. Every time they're doing an intimate kissing scene, I keep forgetting they're doing all this while the film crew is surrounding them because it truly felt so natural seeing them together.

P.S. Don't forget to check out the OST. Every song is good

gives insight on the "perfect life"

The storyline is different from what I normally look for in a drama. I don't find the parenthood life very appealing in dramas. However, it's more than just a drama about some adults being married and going through issues. It gets dark at times, but it wouldn't be a thriller/mystery without it. Woman of Dignity focuses on a familial life as well as a luxurious lifestyle with lots of tea. I appreciate that all the characters had their flaws and troubles, including the main female lead.

The acting was great because I really hated the first female lead's husband. Alongside with that, the second female lead did a great job as well. She portrays the desire for a perfect and luxurious life that people get sometimes, except she goes to the extreme.

I really loved watching this drama. I've seen it multiple times and I won't get tired of it any time soon. I recommend giving it a try if you like watching everything unroll in a drama.

pure classic

I grew up watching this and it will always have a special place in my heart. I have fond memories watching it with my family members and bonding with them. It doesn't hurt to revisit it as well because it's a walk down memory lane. I adored the production. The costumes and sets created were very detailed. Princess Pearl is also the reason why I continue to like watching historical dramas.

If this is your first time watching it or you're thinking about giving it a try, I'd say go for it! The only catch is that you have to keep in mind it is an older drama.

has loving kiss scenes that make you melt

I was so intrigued by the storyline that I finished this in one day and I have to say it was time very well spent. I was looking for a historical romance with slices of comedy thrown in there and I was very pleased. (Though there are some scenes that require tissues so be prepared!)

The casting of the characters is on-point. The leads have amazing chemistry thus sweetening the kiss scenes and romance between them. The female lead actress is so talented because she managed to play two personalities and none of them seemed forced. It was just so natural. Rather than it showing her adapting right as she arrived, it was gradual. The constant mention of modern items and words adds another dimension to the female lead's character because it is exactly what I would do if I were to travel back in time as well. Yes, this show had a low budget but it never took away anything from the plot or experience. Round of applause to everyone! I also love and admire the portrayal of loyalty and friendship between the female lead and her maid.

On to season 2 I go :D

strong female lead

It didn't feel like 54 episodes to me. I typically don't have the patience for long dramas, but this one hit different. I adore the chemistry between the two leads. They did well with acting out the romantic scenes. Despite the romance involved, the title, The Princess Wei Young, and the plot proves that this is all about Wei Young.

I enjoyed following Wei Young's journey. She has a different demeanor compared to the typical romance-related dramas that I usually go for. But I'm saying it as a good thing because it's nice seeing a strong female lead who isn't ditsy. The plot was well-thought out enough that it kept me watching until the end.

The ost is everything; I recommend you listening to it separate from the drama because it lets you appreciate it in its entirety. I also cried a lot and there are 54 whole episodes so get that tissue box and put it next to you lol.

pls don’t eat while watching

This is definitely one of my favorite Hong Kong movies. It was well worth watching though a bit predictable to begin with. There were definitely some scenes and sound effects that made me uncomfortable, but not to the extent where I had to stop watching.

The female lead helped contribute greatly to the discomfort. Hence I think they did an amazing job with casting because she embodies the insecurities of getting older. I appreciate the message of the movie. People will go through lengths to maintain their beauty or indulge in some “fountain of youth.” I felt bad for the female lead, but the desire to stay young is something everyone goes through as they age.

Like the other reviewer said, if you have a weak stomach it’s probably best to stay away from this movie. HOWEVER, if your curiosity is piqued it won’t hurt to watch a few scenes as long as you’re prepared and you’re not eating anything.

black mirror but not

This is my first Thai drama that I’ve seen, so apologies because I am unfamiliar with the setup. This show reminded me of Black Mirror wherein each episode is its own story and it’s supposed to spread a message. It does get a bit dark and extreme at times though, so if you’re looking for some lighthearted fun this isn’t it lol.

The story regarding the “mysterious girl” was interesting to me. I kept wanting to find out who she was and where she came from which increased my desire to keep watching. I think the underlying theme of this whole series is it shows the ugly side of humans. I appreciated the fact that there were consequences for everything. The actress is so talented and she carries the emotions/insanity over very well especially with her expressions.

I was so into it I couldn’t get over the fact that it was over. I wish there was a follow-up season where we get to either see more different scenarios or learn more about the female lead. Or maybe it’s kept that way to keep it a secret. Either way, I loved watching this drama.

frustrating plot, but good ost

Watch it for the cute and humorous scenes that occur every now and then.

I was pulled in by Yoo In Na and the mystery/murder part of the drama. I actually watched this years ago and I loved it, swearing that it was one of my favorite kdramas. Having returned to it now, I take it all back lol. I only cared about the cute scenes involving the female lead and her ex-husband's relationship, while ignoring everything else about the drama. I would say that this isn't a horrible drama, it's just decent enough to keep watching without getting attached or invested in the characters. The comedic parts definitely helped along the way.

However, the storyline was just very frustrating as was the main couple's relationship. It all boiled down to miscommunication and this goes on for basically the whole drama. I understand the need to create a background and get the viewers invested into each character and their relationships, but I was disappointed. As for the mystery, I don't think the story is well-developed for that genre either.

On the plus side, I really liked the female lead's style and outfit choices! Given that it was one of my very first kdramas that I watched, I appreciate that it did well in getting me to start watching kdramas.

refreshing and relatable!

I typically go for more romance-themed dramas rather than slice-of-life, but Age of Youth had me HOOKED. Watching this made me cherish my existing friendships even more. I love the differences in each characters' personalities. It was also nice to see that it wasn't a "hello here are the characters! they just met and oh look they're all best friends now!" type of scenario. Each of them go through miscommunication, arguments, and disagreements and along the way, they grow together. It provides an accurate representation of relationships in real life because you DO get into arguments with your friends and loved ones; it's not just a smooth road and this drama proves it. Additionally, the struggles each character goes through is very well thought out with a raw portrayal.

If you feel lost in living through the beginning of "adulthood," this is a good drama to watch then. It makes you feel less like you're navigating situations (good or bad) alone and more like everyone goes through these things in one way or another too.

watch it for the romance, not crime/investigation

Like my headline says, there are more romance scenes than investigative scenes. It was perfect for me though because I typically enjoy watching romance dramas. I had thought this drama would be more about the crime scenes and story, but I am pleasantly surprised it focused on the main leads' relationship.

With that said, I felt so spoiled throughout the drama because I was so used to the simple scenes where the female and male lead demonstrate their love and trust for each other. Whenever any problem seemed to arise, the trust between the two didn't stir up any misunderstandings.

HOWEVER, I am disappointed at the ending. This is the first drama I have ever fast-forwarded and skipped some parts (thank god for 1.5x speed). I don't understand how the writers could give us all the sweet romance and then just completely cut us off it for the last episodes. Don't even get me started on episode 55. Though there is a happy ending involved, nothing big happens. For marriage to be such a recurrent theme throughout the show you'd THINK that a wedding scene would happen between the main couple. But nope, most of it just shows the couple being apart etc etc. I GET IT it's for the drama, but I started skipping towards the end because it felt like it was dragging to fill the 55 episode quota and then use the last episode so haphazardly.

The beginning and middle were very adorable to watch, but I am iffy about the ending. It is a great drama to watch regardless though because the acting of the cast gets you so immersed in it. There are bad visual effects, but like I said, the acting carried it all really well. The story is not bad either but it is very typical: good vs. bad, villain gets what he deserves in the end. What does differentiate is the female lead being able to fight alongside the male lead. Even the second female lead is badass.

P.S. though romance was a bigger focus here, they only pretty much kiss once ):
P.S.S. The OST is a must listen

another sweet remake of itazura na kiss

It's a good movie to watch when you're looking for some sweet, cringey, fluffy, and funny scenes about just one main couple. It's like any other Itazura Na Kiss story line, with different details but the ending is the same. Because it is a movie, I do feel that it was a bit rushed. The scene transitions were so abrupt. It felt like they were trying to fit everything into a 2 hour time limit without thinking much about the fluidity.

Initially, I was so close to dropping it because it's been a while since I've seen Itazura Na Kiss and I couldn't deal with the male lead, BUT it is the story line so I respect that. I think the reason why it has such high ratings is because the ending just warms your heart. I felt joy watching the scenes towards the ending. Just don't take it too seriously and enjoy the movie!

makes you feel fuzzy while watching it

I was looking for a lighthearted romcom and Touch Your Heart fit the criteria perfectly. It had depth to the story without it being overwhelming. I was a bit worried I would be heartbroken throughout most of the drama, but I wasn't! It is truly a good drama to watch if you're in the middle of watching a heavy drama or have just finished one.

I especially love the main couple because their relationship is based on trust and understanding. There was no need for dragged out scenes of the leads apart and upset simply due to a mere misunderstanding that could have been easily resolved by communicating with each other. It was so refreshing to see the main leads express their feelings so earnestly and openly. Moreover, I enjoyed the stories of all the other couples. Their scenes would be splashed in between so it wasn't like the main couple was the entire story, hence why I say it has depth. The other relationships begin and progress differently. This drama definitely brings out the realness of relationships--both romantic AND platonic in terms of how relationships improve gradually and the two parties get to know each other better along the way.

They did amazing with the casting. There is chemistry between the male and female lead so it truly felt like they were both in love with each other. However, as I mentioned above, I enjoyed the friendships and other relationships in the drama too. The male lead did great in showing the character development through measured facial expressions and movements. Everyone looks like they had lots of fun making this drama. It is very wholesome. Don't be deterred by the hour long episodes! It honestly didn't feel like an hour to me, so I enjoyed watching every bit of it. You won't regret it!
