Oh my god, I called it! I was telling my coworker the moment Mofang was devoured, it means he's going to come back as some evil guy. Well, he's somewhat on the evil side right now. haha
Sorry but her facial expression barely changed during the reveal of Mofang at the beginning of ep 23 and it kind…
I think you just failed to notice it. I notice her shock, then regret, and anger expressions. It was all in her micro expressions. So no, it wasn't the same face throughout, you were just not attentive to detail. Furthermore, you're forgetting what kind of character Shenli is. She's not your typical emotional female lead. She's known to be pokerfaced, extremely strong and protective, but also caring through her actions. Again, it's her micro-expressions that made me think she's done a great job. Especially looking down on the mastermind when her phoenix rose. It was incredibly imposing; I wouldn't want to cross her.
She's important character ,, she makes the story realistic to be honest we don't live in idealist world where…
Not every drama needs annoying characters to drive the plot. I've seen plenty of dramas that exclude characters like the giant red flag of a bestie and do perfectly fine. If you enjoy her character that's fine, I respect it. I clearly don't, so you cannot convince me otherwise. People need to learn to accept negative opinions of certain characters, not everything needs to be defended for justification.

No, she's not that important. She does not make it realistic unless you think overstepping your boundaries and controlling people you're not in a relationship with is realistic? Assuming someone likes you despite rarely hanging out is realistic? Meddling in to other people's business when told you're not invited is realistic? Cause it's not in my world. I wasn't even talking about her reaction towards the disease announcement. In fact, literally everyone in the drama had realistic understanding and reaction of the disease announcement. Her personality is just irritating.
She hasn’t completely accepted him yet. They’ve always been drawn to each other. She understands him like…
Maybe you're right because I can definitely see she hasn't fully accepted him yet but has begun to. I may have spoke too soon because the way I saw it was how gentle she was towards him all of a sudden and it threw me off course.
He is definitely a red flag but it’s definitely not sudden. It’s literally been a slow burn since the first…
It feels like we're not watching the same drama. Up until the recent episode, there has been no slow burn. LOL No romantic chemistry between the leads because Xue Ning treats Xie Wei as a teacher who cares too much for absolute no reason. Put yourself in her shoes for once instead of the audience. Furthermore, as you said, they spent time as student/teacher there's nothing else besides that especially from Xue Ning's pov. In addition to that, I'm sure Xue Ning knows student/teacher romance is taboo in itself. Hence, the father refused Xie Wei to be near her while Xue Ning cared more about her own freedom than a love interest. She never treated XW like a romantic interest until the recent episode.
All of a sudden they're kissing, she went from hating him to accepting him in one episode. It's difficult to accept her abrupt change of feelings. Xie Wei is a well written character but he's a major red flag, just not someone you want to be in love with.
