Thatās very reassuring to hear! My only exposure to Korean culture is (perhaps unfortunately / sadly) through Kdramas. While I know things are exaggerated, it must be based on some past experiences or the way things used to be. Also, I really donāt like when two full grown adults find love only to have them break up because the parents donāt approve or the others status is high enoughā¦š
I do know itās a fictional show and Iām sure things are much more evolved in real life!
Still itās nice to get confirmation from a real person!
alot more! are you sure?action speaks louder, the female lead had done more than his biological parents from his…
I think, based on nothing more than a few hours of watching these characters⦠that the FL once she (if she) falls in love (or realizes she loves) with the ML - she will give 100% of her heart into the relationship. She doesnāt seem to do things halfway. In school and work⦠she worked until she dropped.
So once the switch flips to love.., sheāll be committed 100%.

Youāre right, this is not a one-off! As a westerner itās difficult to watch and imagine grown adult children (that earn a living) be controlled to such an extent. š£
How old is the daughter supposed to be? I understand that itās SK, a chaste society in KDramas, but the mother is going to beat up her daughter because she was at a motel with a guyā¦š¤¦š»āāļø I get that mom may not be happy or even angryā¦
Same here. The storyline of the parents is utterly ridiculous.I just hope Mirae gets to live a much better life…
Based on what the mother said in ep 7 (I think 7) it maybe her fault the daughter hates her father⦠I wonāt tell he whole story in case you havenāt watched it yetā¦š¤
The father isnāt faultless by far and wasnāt a great dadā¦

With the rain/umbrella and the way the scenes were shot⦠I really thought it was going to be like the two you mention. I put it on hold when the ML moved out of his parents house. It was too slow & focused on work. With romance in the title, I was think Rom-Com with some work/social issues stuff sprinkled in⦠It was the opposite. I really like the leads, but the pacing was⦠in general this was not what I had hoped it would beā¦
Did you think the mother(FL) should have called the father when the daughter was in the ER wanting her dad?I have…
Agree, Agree, Agree!
Yes dad ruined everything! And he is very selfish. Iām not a mental health professional so I donāt know if heās a narcissist or any other label, but being intimate with you affair partner in front of your child has to be psychologically damaging!
Though the mom was neglectful, it wasnāt intentional, well maybe, but not malicious.
As far as your comment about the daughter being selfish, she is still young and hurt and injured⦠and her dad was the one there for her through everything! Even her first period which is a great way to take care of your daughter, but very telling.
She is not yet in middle school so with everything sheās gone through⦠maybe selfish is not correct (imo). She is often more mature than the adults and sheās really still a child.
Ep11 - FL & daugter story is written so good and detailed, I think the best I've seen since a very long time.…
Did you think the mother(FL) should have called the father when the daughter was in the ER wanting her dad?
I have mixed feelings: 1. Itās too soon for FL to separate herself from feeling inadequate as a mom. So she wasnāt ready to reach out to dad and maybe be blamed for the daughterās injury?
2. It would have been a great healing moment for the daughter that both her parents will work together to take care of her even though they are divorced. They didnāt divorce her (the daughter).
This is really a wonderfully written show with a strong cast. The actor playing the daughter has some great skills along side of veteran actors!
I like watching the shows on air (personal opinion) there is something to look forward to for a few weeks, and…
Even though I āhateā the weekly wait when watching shows on air - itās really nice to be able to discuss the show while waiting for the next episode! Even if you donāt like everyoneās opinions itās still nice most of the time to share thoughts! When I first started watching Kdramas, I had no one to discuss the shows with, or answer questions when I didnāt āgetā something! Thatās because the show could be years old already. š¤ Yes itās nice to be able to watch the whole seriesā¦except for binging and not sleeping too much! But I miss the interaction with other watchers of the show! All this is just my opinion⦠no judgment for others opinion as Iāve done both Watch on air & when completed. š«£
I rewatched this drama so many times - at first absolutely hated Gi Seok character, then I felt sorry for him…
Regardless if someone says the relationship is over, the other person canāt say it isnāt.
I know thatās simplified. The couple should discuss but if one party is DONE thereās really nothing else to do but break up. You canāt force as someone to love you!
Iām really hoping for some positive changes beginning in this episode.
Will I be happy
or disappointed tomorrow? š¤

Other than that tiny point we totally agree!

Happy watching!

Also look at the family dynamics the FL grew up with⦠and the issues her sisters have, especially the oldest (š„š”š«£)
Sometimes you meet the right āoneā at the wrong time.
I think the ml likes her from moment one, but in SK being single with a child is like you are a leper. So heās cautious⦠Very cautious.
And the father forcing the FL to marry⦠yikes! That culture is difficult for a western to digest. š
