From what I remember, she was in the US for college and had a serious relationship. She became pregnant and then the boyfriend was killed in an accident. I think she married her husband because her family was poor and that would help her/her family. She was afraid she wouldn’t be acceptable if she was an unwed mother… so she left PS to someone she thought could care for him…
