Yes I do agree with this point, it was definitely out of character. I think it was also her definite uncomfortableness saying it (oopa) at all. She tried to acquiesce to DS request. I think if it were more natural not so stilted it would hurt less to the ear. Also is “honey or yabo” only for married people? That would have sounded like a more mature thing than oppa. (Definitely not using it the first time in front of a guest… strongly agree!)

She (Seol Hui) is a very naïve character with strong morals but poor world experience. It’s like her character has never watched a Kdrama.
All of her actions have resulted in further setbacks (or harsher punishments). Not knowing how to move forward is a valid position.
She needs to be honest with MiSo and have an adult conversation that this is going to take longer than she could have known.
And while it would be good to have a father in her life, there’s no guarantee that they could have achieved any more at this point. (Being male doesn’t automatically assure success, well in Kdramas they are skewed that way.🫣)
