I think it’s bc xk always had big ml dramas so his fans assume his screen time would be more. However, he’s working with established A list actresses so it’s natural that the script and production will veer more towards the actress. Or why would the actresses choose a script that they aren’t the centre. Once a person gets to the top height they will then pick scripts based on roles they want and not the position of the cast (first string etc). Xk is still young and he has room to grow and hone his skills.
I also read comments from his fans, when it was first rumoured that he would take that role in BCE, that they didn’t believe he would take that role because that role was small and had few scenes. So I think it’s just intl fans that are surprised and upset about this. I see this as good opportunity.
I used to want abay to air soon but now I prefer 7’s other drama to air instead. I kinda need a break from abay 🤣. Howeve, ik shu brocade won’t be airing until q3-4. So I’ll be in a drought

When BCE was announced it was already known that XK's role would not have as much scenes bc he's the husband she marries. The one that supports her. It's known to be a plot about the mother and daughter relationship. His is a side character, though idk how much they will change it from the novel.
Why XK chose this drama? I can think of two reasons, 1. YZ is the IT girl everyone wants to work with. Most, if not all, her dramas have great results, viewership, attention, sponsorships. Her period dramas have fantastic results and noise. Her modern drama lacks a bit compared to her period, but it's still significantly better than most. This drama was gaunranteed to be on CCTV or at least some satellite tv, which XK's drama hasn't been on any yet, so this is a good opportunity to grab.
From another stand point, I think he made a smart move. As for ABAY, he will definitely have more scenes and significance in the drama as there's not signicant familial problems or relationships, it's mainly the business and HTJX relatinoship. What i'm slightly worried is how similar XK's roles in BCE and ABAY are as both are CEO type of character, they also dress kinda similar, and the dynamic is similar where ml is black belly, rich, smart etc and fl is weaker. We'll see how this plays out.

that's usually how modern dramas are. splice of life with life lessons. You probably would enjoy fantasy or period dramas more, with fighting, pretty costumes etc. However, an actor/actress has to vy away from the same genre and venture in to a variety or roles and genre, that way their actings skills and market will grow and mature, as well to learn and show different aspects of their acting skills. I think it's a good opportunity for xk to do these modern drama since he has so few. Idk if it's his future goal, but period/fantasy dramas don't win major award in major award shows like rooster or the horse award
