It's my bday so I'll be thrilled, it's like a gift. Think of it this way, you'll have some eps stocked up to watch…
Haha. I laughed when you mentioned Japanese salary woman because I do watch that and the male version on YouTube sometimes. If you work in Japan, as one of those salary people, I truly empathize. I’m just a stranger on the web but if you ever need someone to just chat, feel free to reach out

Aah. Thank you for sharing. I would prioritize sleep and mental health first. This drama will always be here for you to watch!

synopsis suck ass..... so her fiance abandon her when her family fell from grace but she go and fall in love with…
I think that’s the thing with a synopsis, it can only give you a small glimpse of the story, especially when it’s a 47 ep drama. 😊 A short paragraph can’t really capture everything the drama has to offer. I’d definitely give it a chance, especially since the romance is only one small aspect of the overall story. There’s so much more to the characters and their individual journeys that you really have to watch it to get the full picture.

I watched the trailer and to me it looked like the FL had this whole plan for her future with her family and was…
in the novel, he forces her to be his concubine. She didn't even want to be his concubine bc that meant she would be tied to him forever by law. It was a trade, he helped her save her dad and she gives her body to him. She was hoping that in 1-2years after he was bored of her he would shoo her away and she could escape. So she re-enter his court as his woman. But not a concubine, bc even then there were statuses or levels in order to be a concubine. For e.g., a maid that warms the bed for the master, but is still a maid not concubine.

I can't rmb clearly since I like to pick and choose the eps to listen/read, but she became concubine after saving him, which I believe is the scene you saw in the trailer. She didn't want to accept this "reward", but she knew if she didn't accept ml would be angry.

I'm not sure how much the drama will change from the novel to keep it more age friendly for the audience since it's going to air on tv.

I feel like a lot of people are so used to idol period dramas that they forget actual people living in an actual historical society. How people walk, talk, eat, speak, show respect, and carry themselves would naturally be influenced by their era, upbringing, social class, and the systems they lived under. A servant, noblewoman, merchant, or court official wouldn’t all behave the same way. I actually appreciate dramas that pay attention to these details because it makes the characters feel like people who genuinely belong in their world, rather than modern people simply wearing historical costumes. I think LXRG is this type of drama, they take time to show the details and respect the culture.

SS taking ettique classes to learn how to bow, hold utensils, drink tea etc during the period shows how serious she and the production is for this drama.

Just the architecture alone is worthy of a look. Tencent bought a massive piece of land to build the Lin household, and the attention to detail is incredible—from the intricate floor designs to the beautiful wood carvings on the walls. It’s also the kind of setting that will be especially beautiful to watch as the story moves through the four seasons.

What makes this drama particularly different is that it’s not just the FL and ML who have character development while everyone else exists as NPCs. The cast is impressive because **every character, even the smallest supporting role, has their own story.** They’re the main character of their own life, rather than simply existing to support the leads. That gives the drama so much more depth.

I also wouldn’t describe this as a typical Cinderella story about a maid falling in love with a wealthy and powerful man. Yes, there are elements of that, but the FL never actually wanted to marry the ML, even though they were supposedly betrothed when they were young. It’s more that, despite everything that happens, fate keeps bringing them together.

In the novel, and judging from the trailers, it seems the FL’s biggest wish is actually very simple. She wants a quiet life with her adopted family. She wants to be released from their servitude contract, become free people, own their own land and home, raise some cattle, and simply live peacefully. She doesn’t dream of wealth or power. She just wants a simple, ordinary life. Unfortunately, fate has other plans for her.

And for those looking for a crazy revenge plot: this isn’t that kind of story. The novel didn’t have one either. The Shen family was exiled/executed because they were on the Crown Prince’s side, and when the Crown Prince fell from grace, the officials associated with him also fell. There wasn’t really anyone left for the FL to take revenge on—the Shen family was essentially caught on the wrong side of a political downfall.

So instead of revenge being the driving force, the FL’s goal is simply **survival**.

That’s what makes this drama interesting to me. It’s not just about the romance or the two leads. It’s about all these people, their individual circumstances, their choices, and how their lives become intertwined.

If you’re looking for a drama where the supporting characters actually feel like *people* rather than NPCs, with beautiful production design, a rich ensemble cast, and a story that’s more nuanced than the usual Cinderella romance, I really think this one is worth watching.

Airing Sept 11 2nd prime time spot on cctv 8 at 9:30pm onwards. The only bad thing is that cctv 8 only does cvb count until 10pm. So that means 1.5eps daily of lxrg will not be counted.

Here it comes again. ATC is airing soon so you are here to cause chaos. I know you go on every celeb's page to…
People can be passerbys, but the ones that stir trouble and bring negativity are hater. I’ve seen people like you too often. Creating different account names with similar variation. Going on other actress’ page to purposely create chaos and stir trouble and bring hate. You are doing just that right now. You think you are behind the screen so no one will catch you. Karma will one day.

Also apparently ATC may be split into 2 seasons ;🍉 #againstthecurrent tentatively scheduled for September 10th…
I am sooo excited for this. Not many dramas split in 2 seasons. Mainly it's yz's dramas. This gives me hope and expectation that production wil be excellent
