Thank you. Finally someone that relates to how I feel about airing the two dramas at the same time. They will be competing and compared on ratings and poles and what not. It will significantly impact the results of the two dramas. Worst case scenario is to have them air back to back, and even then I wouldn’t want ABAY to air right smack when CNY is happening.

Thanks for the info! I heard some fans are hoping this drama won’t airing CNY bc it will affect viewership ratings. Since CNY is such a big holiday in China, many most likely won’t be watching tv. Also, this airing and taking a break from airing schedule really breaks the flow. I really hope this drama airs after CNY

That’s why I’m glad she’s taking on period and fantasy dramas now. It’s about high time. After every modern drama I keep hoping it’s period, but nope it’s another modern. Thankfully her modern does exceptionally well. But I still enjoy period more.

This drama isn’t airing on cctv, on hunan I think it’s less restrictive.

Have you read Road to Home? There’s steamy scenes too and the drama did well in adapting to those scenes. I also agree that abay or any typical cdrama can just infer and zoom out or in. I rather have that than nothing haha. It’ll leave viewers room for imagination.

I know the author is different. There was an auto correct typo in my comment, I was referring to yy’s drama fireworks of my heart which was not great. She is the same author for that drama and ABAY. However, like I said HT’s character is much more likeable and I believe this couple will have more sparks than the previously mentioned drama. I’m just relaying what the cnetizens se saying. I hope they give this drama the benefit of the doubt.

I’ve watched and dropped Fair and Devil , but I know public responded really well and it’s what gave Dylan a boost of his popularity.

Honestly that’s what happed to RTH. I really liked the novel but the plot was slow. I think it’s bc there’s no love triangles or cheating. Just two couple reconciling and they are just showing their daily lives. I mean it’s still the top winner of 2023 on mango and Hunan. Which is why MangoTV wants to air this so badly.

I’ve read the steamy scenes you are mentioning. Seven is somewhat conservative, especially that controversy year ago. I think she’s slowly opened up and I’ve seen her improve in kissing and reciprocating. I know xk is a good kisser so I’m just putting my eggs all in him and hope he delivers and help 7deliver in the kissing department. Since typically it’s the ml that leads the kissing in dramas anyways. You can forget about the steamy scenes like the shower scene.

I’m not sure if you are aware or not but many at first gave up hope of this drama bc the writer and author. The public in China didn’t quite like only for love and that drama by the same author with yy (fireworks of my heart) in it. So when public/netizens saw this drama had both the author and screenwriter involved they kept saying no hope. However, I believe in Seven. Usually her script picking is good so I think this could be an exception. We just have to come in with no expectations first.

Xk and jintian really went full on to promote their drama so I already see strong cp fans. I already saw a few comments that they prefer jintian etc on ABAY posts. Let’s just hope for the benefit. I also want wars to stop for now and to focus on promoting. I just pray no wars happen during promotion.

I don’t think it’s a smart idea. Idk if Esther is coming on that day. I don’t follow Esther’s activities. I hope this ep will focus on ABAY only. Modern dramas are a bit harder to get popular compared to period dramas. So Esther’s drama will be easy to promote. I honestly don’t like if an artist’s drama is aired simultaneously or too closely back to back. It causes cp war and the drama fans have not settled down from the hype and now they are going into another drama of their celeb. It will be hard to get into the next drama. I think it’s best to have like 2-3months in between. However, I have a feeling abay and Esther’s drama will be airing closely.

It was mentioned briefly when the melon came out but Chinese fans tend to not confirm things until it’s officially announced or have Reuter photos of the actors filming. They have been focusing on her movie, then abay and shu brocade. So they won’t focus on this rumour until it’s confirmed.

Some are saying that hunan already have lists of dramas to fill the spot so abay may air in march or April.

There’s no guest list. I just see ppl commenting about him appearing for hi6 on little red book and wb. Guess we’ll just have to see. I know 7 doesn’t appear in vs unless it’s to promote.
