Finally!! I can't even wait for this drama to air soon, cause it has two of my favorites in it. Looking forward!
I know she wants to go with the real acting route, where she lets her work speak for herself. But, I believe it's more smart and faster to go with the traffic route. Once she gains for recognition and popularity from there she can then choose more scripts with depth and character, the non traffic route. I feel like this drama would've benefited her much more and helped her much quicker. Just like zly, she went on the traffic route before she then chose more serious scripts. It's more about strategizing. Plus, the two mini series that she already filmed, New Gen and this communist drama, are already the non traffic route. I just hope after Master of My Own, she will choose a traffic route.

Im still so annoyed with that. ZhuYan would've been a great opportunity. It's a big fl role too plus working with XZ will increase her popularity and that drama will be a sure win. Also, it's still a different genre she hasn't done before. Fantasy period dramas are easier to get popular. What her manager did was utter stupidity
Well... If they keep the pacing then by the ep 61 we'll be watching their grandgrandchildren's story. I'm wondering...…
Can't agreed more. There's no flow to this drama. I haven't even gotten to know the character well and BAM, next scene the ml is taking fl to his home and they are passionately and madly in love....wtf. There's no proper background of the fl, like why is she so smart, how can she run the country and do politics when she's from a village. Sure she married a scholar prior, but I doubt that warrants her to be able to rule the country in the future. There's just too many plot holes. It's a waste of the main leads.
Even though these types of dramas aren't my thing, I still like to watch them for their costumes and history accuracy. I liked the opening OST, it's pretty refreshing and new having paintings and living characters mixing. But, this drama is all over the place. I've watched up to ep7 and there are already a lot of flaws. For one, since the fl gave birth to royal grandson, why is the grandson still illegitimate since the king made the degree or rule that only those with an heir can receive the throne? I think they could've find a better actor to act as the old king, I can't get into the drama bc of him. The old king has no "kingly aura", he's short and frumpy. The editing isn't as smooth, everything is too choppy, there's no flow to the events and it's confusing. Things are happening too fast that there's not much depth in the story to carry the events. The ml is too heavily focused on love that it becomes a joke. I had expectations for this drama bc of the actress, Liu Tao.
I believe she's just chasing after popular people now to get famous, and stepping on unpopular people. TBH I didn't…
Couldn't agree more. I didn't like WOH, not bc bl wasn't my thing (it's not but I can appreciate bromance and I do look forward to the one with Leo Luo), bc the production didn't look great. The falling in the water scene was a joke compared to Brocade. Brocade made it look much more realistic that I actually thought the main leads were in the bottom of the river bc the director made effort to put rocks and sediments at the bottom of the river/ocean. I really thought it was real until I saw bts of them in the pool doing this scene. So I was amazed. Honestly, Legend of Fei production was crap, and WOH was just slightly better compared to Legend of Fei.
I stopped following her after she criticised actors who always had their voices dubbed in dramas and then had…
I don't remember the exact details of Minglan, but I think when 2nd uncle saved Minglan they were in the ocean far away from the public. So no one knew he saved her, it was kept as a secret between them bc he and she knew that if others knew then her reputation would've been tarnished. I think that's why Avenuex didn't criticize that part bc it was written logically to save the females rep.
I'm up to episodes 36, and I will the whole productions is doing a great job in my views, some may agree some…
I've listened to the audio book, I liked it, but I do know that if it was to be adapted into a drama stuff needed to be added to make it more interesting. It's impossible to adapt into a drama while following the novel closely. The novel is pretty mundane if produced into live action. There's nothing serious or exciting that happens in the novel, it's very domestic household lives. Sometimes I get bored and skip some chp.

Same, I unsubscribed to her when she attacked Go Ahead. I didn't like how she labeled the drama as misogyny. I was quite appalled with her extreme radicle opinions. Just bc a drama didn't portray females as perfect moms (which is fine and realistic as well), doesn't mean the drama promote misogyny. She watched a few eps and stopped, then proceeded to rant the whole drama. I thought it was very unprofessional and bias. She didn't give the drama a chance. I, then realized, she was very bias in her opinions and I didn't want to follow her recommendations. Also, her taste in dramas didn't suit mine. She's currently raving about Word of Honor, I think she loves bl dramas. Some of her subscribers follow her critiques like lambs, which I didn't like either.
yea being a concubine sucks. Your whole existence is to just be a chess piece. Women weren't even seen as human…
Yea, concubine's children have no standings in the family, especially when compared to legitimate children. Hence why Minglan was so well done bc the story itself was novel in that it actually told the reality of it.
Erniang, sigh, idk what to say about her. She's an annoying brat that doesn't think kindly of people. She doesn't believe in others treating her sincerely, especially her family, so she's always fighting against them. When shiyi helps her, she thinks shiyi is being fake. I want to smack her sometimes, but then realizing all her close family dies....sigh. I pity yet also dislike her.

Not just a piece chest, but they had to tread and live carefully since they were considered "servants" and not masters. If the main wife didn't treat them fairly and nicely then they basically live in hell too.
Your best bet is something like general's lady or Cuo Dian Yuan Yang. One wife, but schemes external to the couple.
@Alma I agree with Goodbye My Princess! I briefly listened to a few eps of the radio book, it was so beautiful and heartbreaking. I cried every time I listened to it. The drama didn't disappoint, the scenery is so beautiful. The first half is very aesthetically pleasing. I like the OST also. Though, I didn't finish the drama, I skipped a few scenes and eps but overall still a good drama.
If you want to watch her other works which are on lighter theme, you can watch with you, fox's summer and Mr. Mermaid
Perhaps, With You? It's one of her notable works. It's one of the most popular and well done youth dramas. I really liked it. There was movie adaption as well, but I disliked it bc the characters were poorly portrayed and acting was stale.
This drama made me realize the hardships of being a Concubine. I don't care if I get to marry into a wealthy powerful household, if it's a status of a Concubine, I rather be like Wuniang, marry a scholar and just be a regular peasant. At least I'll be main wife.
