First part is SLOW and the FL is a bit heartless
Tl;dr the FL treats the ML poorly and doesn't actually develop feelings for him until the last episode. I'll summarise the episode list below (with as few a spoilers as possible) so you can see what I mean. But if you want a romance drama, this part aint it. I imagine part 2 is a lot nicer, but I'd have liked a headsup on just how little of their romance there is in part 1.
1-8 Slow backstory to FL. Doesn't properly meet ML until ep 8.
9-13 Amazing writing, FL is cool, great chemistry with ML, made me squeal
14-21 FL falls in love with another man (what?). ML looks on sadly.
22-26 FL despises ML for no reason?
27 She realises how nice he is and falls in love.
So I get what they were going for with both their characters, it was just a really difficult watch because of the way they did it.
It's insane to me that theres more episodes of the FL being in love with another man than with the ML. Who wants to watch that? You can argue that they weren't *really* in love, but it is literally SEVEN episodes of them looking longingly at each other and telling everyone that they're going to be together while the ML looks on really sadly. It's exhausting to watch knowing that they're not the end couple.
The ML is absolutely fantastic. Loveable from the very beginning, always looking out for the FL. He's the only reason I kept watching until the end.
But the FL and ML also never really get a chance to talk. She has far deeper conversations with all the other men around her. There's not really a good bonding moment for them that isn't just him rescuing her. She dislikes him for a good portion of the drama and I kept waiting for them to talk it out. Like her explain her reasoning but... no she just keeps brushing him off with no explanation. A lot of the time she just STARES at the ground. Not saying ANYTHING. It's frustrating and rough to watch. There's one good moment at the end where they talk it out, but it doesn't explain her general dislike of him for the other 26 episodes of this drama.
I'm guessing (or hoping) that part 2 addresses most of these issues, but I Just wanted to write this review because I would have liked a headsup on how slow their romance is before watching.
